I don't understand all the threads about RB's? When u can't throw the ball, you can't run the ball and we haven't been able to throw downfield enough to make a Defense back off the line. We don't need any more Rb's, what we need is someone to get the ball down the field every now and then...........We do this and our Rb's will magically reappear...

The reason why we can't run the ball because our RB suck. Murray with the same oline was still able to be productive despite seeing 8 man fronts. Whats our excuse this year? The oline suck? Some people here kept saying anyone can run behind this oline. Well this is the results. Thus the running game sucks.

It's become painfully obvious that the Cowboys need to start Christian Michaels. The one back we have that will lower his head, hit the hole, and get us a first down. He won't hesitate like McFadden and Randle. He's the closest in terms of skill set to DeMarco Murray. We need that kind of runner with such a lack of running lanes due to not having Dez taking guys away from the line of scrimmage.

Another guy I think we could see if he may wanna make a comeback is Brandon Jacobs. The guy who ran all over us for years. Literally. He last played for the Giants and had a decent run behind one of the worst offensive lines in the game. Despite the line's struggles they're still an elite unit. They just need a runner or runners who can follow their blocks, not make them have to sustain blocks forever, hit that hole, not try and dance, run people over, give us some toughness and some physicality, and not have to worry about backs jumping over the line on the goal line and fumble the ball. Also be nice to have two guys who don't need a play perfectly blocked up to get positive yards. Jacobs is 33 years old now, but I guarantee you if you compile the list of guys who wanna tackle this dude in the open field it'll be a short list.

This run game needs a boost in a big way. Even with teams stacking the line so much having a runner who can break tackles and can wear down a defense. Imagine having two guys who are capable of doing that. When Dez gets back teams will have to play more coverage and try and take him away and if we get the ball to these two guys and get them going down hill I think we can be every bit as difficult to defend as last season. This season can still be salvaged, but please stop giving the ball to these finesse backs.

Brandon the tip toe burglar Jacobs no thanks!!!!

Before Romo got injured, he tossed 45 passes in one game and I said at the time that he could not do that all season. So I don't subscribe to the opinion that these scatbacks will suddenly improve when he returns. They sucked before he got injured.

They absolutely sucked during the Giants game. And NO the reason why they sucked wasn't because we were playing catch up. Its because our ineffectiveness running the ball.

If we were effective running then we probably wouldn't have had that many INTs and turnovers.

I hate Brandon Jacobs guts and he hates us also.
He was 90% of all the bulletin board material when he played us.

You want the guy who threw the ball into the Star after a touchdown? No way. He has no class.

This Madden mentality is annoying. Brandon Jacobs has not played football in 22+ months, there is literally no chance he could get into football shape, learn the playbook enough to contribute AND actually be good enough to contribute.

I am sorry if you think Randle is a problem then you should not be evaluating football at any level. If you have a problem with Randle because of his attitude or even his underwear bandit days, then I can understand that. But Randle on the field is not a problem. Football is a team sport and Dez and Romo being out have a serious effect on running the ball. Everyone is playing close to the line. Defenses don't have to worry about getting beat deep so they can stack the box. Randle is facing more 8 man fronts than Murray ever did last year and is doing well considering we lost Dez and Romo. Once Dez gets back you will see more holes open up. Once Romo gets back, even more will open up. Randle is ranked 17th right now and that's with everyone knowing he is going to get the ball and trying to stop him because he is the only weapon we have left. While not great, its not bad all things considered.

Personally I would love to see Randle and Michael in the backfield. McFadden has shown me very little.

I watched a Christine Michael highlight video and cant figure out why he's not playing more. Seems like a perfect guy to wear down defenses and let Randle get the big runs or some nice PA plays.

I rather cut my legs and arms off before I see Jacobs in a Cowboys uniform. I will never forget him dry humping the star in the endzone and our defense not doing anything about it.
