FWST: Michael Hungry For More Work - Will Get It

I hope he gets around 15 carries... RBs need to develop a rhythm SMH.

Sounds like more of the same

Christine Michael said he’s not sure of his role for Sunday.

"I'm just as clueless as you are," Michael said. "Those guys did say I'm going to get a little bit more carries, but we'll see." Michael is expected to have an expanded role coming off the Cowboys bye, but OC Scott Linehan told reporters he’s not expecting big changes. The Dallas Morning News believes Michael is more likely to cut into Darren McFadden’s workload than Joseph Randle’s. Michael is a high-risk/low-floor RB3 for Week 7.

I'm thinking all the talk was to motivate that other back on the roster... Of course they won't give him more carries that would mean they'd have to admit they were wrong about that other back... That'll never happen...

That's what Murray used to do.. he used to want the carries. He wasn't afraid of any defense. The oline feeds off of that. We need these type of players and Cmike doing that little gesture...well its what we need, however small it is.

I hope this kid comes out and punches the doubters in the mouth. We can run the ball. Just not with we have been trotting out there.

I agree but who knows if they will give him many chances not sounding like that might happen after all

That would just be stupid coaching. Win games period.

I like Michael's larger frame and more physical running style, I just hope he has good "vision"... I don't like Randal or McFadden getting a large number of carries, so sue me for being excited about Michael, even if he was a total flop in Seattle...

Yeah... Can't wait to see our third string RB that Seattle basically kicked to the curb. Smh.

ps. Randles college highlights look better

He will have a better chance to prove himself now that Collins has replaced an injured Leary and a competent Qb at the helm.

Forsett was kicked to a number of curbs, same goes for Dion Lewis, and Chris Ivory was traded for a song. Just sayin'

:52

I'd like to see that happen on Sunday.

After watching CM's college highlights I noticed how he runs "low to the ground" with his upper body leaned forward, even in open space. Reminds me of the way Emit Smith ran. Not comparing them talent wise but running styles are similar. Maybe CM's lower center of gravity and bigger frame can punch through the defense on short yardage better than JR and DMC. Those two don't do very well when the line of scrimmage gets crowded.

I saw the same thing. On other hightlight vids, I also saw him disappear behind his OL and then pop out the other end and get a big run. Same thing we used to see E. Smith do.

I like how he runs low to the ground with his upper body leaned forward. Those type of RB ususally get extra few yards after being tackled just by leaning and falling forward.

Broaduss just said on Twitter it doesn't look good for him to start. I really want this kid to get snaps. I'm sick of seeing randle do nothing and the Darren come in do nothing and it's 4th quarter already relying on cassell to win the game

That scenario cannot play out tomorrow. If it does, we lose. We need to set the tempo early with some hard running. Fingers crossed that CMike is in on more than just 3rd or 4th & 1. We need to give ourselves the best chance to win.

If we come out with the same ol same ol after two weeks to prep, it will tell me all I need to know about the coaching staff's collective desire (or lack thereof) to inspire excellence this year.

Jamarcus Russel had some pretty good college highlights too...

We saw that on his big 1 carry in the last game. He hit the line of scrimmage up the guards butt then popped in the whole for 6.

Yep. And apparently you missed my point. There was a video post before mine showing Christine Michaels.. My point (and yours) is that it doesn't matter how good they look in college. Thank you for restating my point:)

I really don't understand this statement at all. Exactly what were you expecting behind a underperforming Leary and Free, Romo out and Dez out, and horrible play calling. The fact he is at 3.9 is actually pretty amazing given what he has to work with.

Point taken.. And I figured, like everything in life, someone would point out the exceptions of the rule as if Michaels is already one of them. But let's not forget the overwhelming majority that are kicked to the curb that never amount to anything. Don't get me wrong, I will gladly change my tune is Michaels turns into a Probowl player.. But until he proves something that he hasn't been able to do for two teams now.. I'll temper my excitement. Right now he's in the same boat as Randle, but he brings a different skill set that may be more the Cowboys style. So we'll see, but I do wonder why even after a bye week..He still hasn't beat out Randle?. I did mention tho, all the RBs will have a better chance this week with the LG & Qb switch and improved defense giving the offense more opportunities... So let the best RB win! I really don't care who it is as long as thier effective and we Win. Bc when Romo and Dez are back.. The running game will miraculously come alive again.

Give him the "Parcells test".

Big Bill didn't mess around. When he wanted to find out about his RB, he would hand them the ball about 6 to 8 consecutive times just to see how he acted. He wanted his guys to have stamina, the ability to carry the team for a drive whether it was early when the team wanted to establish a ground game or late when protecting a lead.
We know the other guys aren't the answer so might as well find out all we need to know in one game. Give him about 25 carries regardless of productivity.

You never know, there are those RB's that start out with small gains but can eventually wear a defense down to where they get their big runs late in the 2nd half. Our O-line's athleticism is wasting away in passing protection, it's time to release the dogs.
