Greg Hardy and the Media

The media has the dumbest reactions ever. In a violent game where 230+ pound men pound each other into the ground, coaches curse players, players trash talk and curse each other, millions of dollars of gambling surround the event, etc. the media is getting all wound up about a player getting angry at his special teams crapping their pants and knocking a clipboard out of a coach's hands. If this was Brady they'd just ignore it or say how much passion he has because he's the golden white boy. Find something else to do instead of repeatedly trying to dog some individual because he plays on a team you hate or whatever lame agendas you people are driven by.

Well, I am not really sure I appreciate the racial connotation, but OK...

I'm on Hardy's side.

But he does need to display better profesioinalism. Control it a big more.

Like Garrett said, harness it better. Because this is the type of emotion and energy needed to be a true beast.

the only shove/bump I saw was from Bisaccia

~sigh~

You said "NO ONE got physical".

The whole episode was "physical" but Whatevs man... I guess we live in the day and age when players can disrespect coaches and not be held accountable. The FO and coaching staff are rushing to sweep this under the rug-- and so is most of the Dallas fan base.

Time to move on.

At the 17 second mark, Hardy swipes at Biaschia and makes contact with the coach. It's not a "shove" perse, but it shouldn't happen.

Is anyone else tired of the Media's trite bashing? I'm sick of it.

I just listened to a highlight of Mike Greene calling Greg Hardy a fraud. Then on Sports Nation you had Michelle Beadle talking about his past, and because of that he has no right to do what he did on the sideline. The "Gunz-Blazing" comment was also brought up on the show, then they asked if Greg Hardy should be suspended. On top of all this, I've seen multiple ESPN guys say Greg Hardy should be cut/and or suspended.

I mean really? You're going to call Greg Hardy a fraud because he's emotional after a loss, and doesn't want to talk to the media? That's what the NFL wanted, the players to be emotional during the media sessions after the game. You can't have your cake and eat it to. I view this as a positive characteristic, not a negative one. It's obvious the guy is effected by whether we win or lose, and he's not just collecting a pay check. I'll take that passion for all 53 guys, I can care less if he answers the media's questions after the game.

As for the comments on Sports Nation, his past actions OFF the field shouldn't be the reason you judge his actions ON the field, they're completely separate. When a passionate emotional guy like Hardy get's a little edgy on the sidelines, I don't want to hear about his domestic violence charges that were dropped. That's a completely separate issue, and it's beyond tacky by whomever brings it up. What I don't like is when I see guys like Hardy/Dez have an emotional event on the sideline, and they get crucified. Yet when a guy like Tom Brady has his spat with an offensive coordinator, he's hailed as a passionate warrior who's just caught in the heat of the moment. I don't want to hear that nonsense, the double standard is sickening.

Also bringing up the "Gunz-Blazing" comment is just pathetic. We all know it was just a figure of speech. Sure it may have been a stupid comment by Hardy, but did anyone actually think he meant bring an actual gun and "blaze" it? It's a complete shame how members of the media constantly grasp at straws to try and tear down these athletes. It's as if they prop you up, just so they can tear you down later, pathetic.

As for the members of the media calling for Greg Hardy to be cut to "right a wrong", or for 1-2 game suspension. Get over yourself, FOR WHAT?!! For getting into a heated argument with a coach? I'm sure those very same people who want Hardy suspended didn't have that same view with Brady.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired of the nonsense from the media.

/Rant
I agree and honestly am tired of the media being bullies. Its not just with Hardy but any situation where they act like nobody has a differing viewpoint from them. I love watching PTI but was disappointed in michael wilbon talking about Hardy saying something about Brady wife when he himself has said similar things. I don't care if I agree/disagree with you stay consistent on the topic you're talking about. I feel too many in the media don't. Beadle talks about DV but likes stone cold. When you see that you can't take that person serious on that subject. People as a whole aren't consistent. why don't everybody say Manziel should sit down in unison?

At least Hardy didn't do something like this and get a 15 yard penalty for it.

Remember last year when the St. Louis TE (Cook) was shoving his own team mates around on the sideline in the Dallas game?

It happens. Tempers flare. The entire digital world wasn't losing it's mind over Cook doing that. I never heard it mentioned after that game.

It is just crazy. There is no doubt that a lot of people don't like Hardy and want him to fail. Or, they don't like Dallas, and want him to fail. Or both.

The incident is just a talking point for everyone and they're going way, way overboard, IMO.

While there are certainly better ways to go about it, it is refreshing to someone besides Dez show some emotion out there. We haven't had a really nasty player on D since Haley.

They obviously hate Hardy and they all feel like they have to get on their PC soapboxes to show the world what White Knights they are.

Hardy wasn't even convicted of a crime, making him more responsible than 100s of other NFL players and media members.

He is being held to an unreasonable standard and it is clear the haters won't stop until they get what they want. They are truly intolerant bullies.

Yep-- all those examples are shots of players doing dumb things. I never said Hardy was the only guy in the history of the NFL to do this. BUT none of it should be tolerated-- and besides that-- a player on player altercation is different than player on coach. Period.

If people have an agenda and want Hardy and/or Dallas to fail as you suggest-- why would Hardy give those critics any ammo at all? Any way you cut it-- this should not have happened-- whether it's Greg Hardy or Tony Romo getting into it with a coach.

Just acknowledge that and move on. There really is no defense for that type of behavior.
