Besides Hardy, the rest are jags are average at rushing the passer. That nascar package is not going to be as good as we thought.
Crawford has 5 sacks for his career, most he has ever had in a season is 3.
Hayden is a joke with a career total of 2 sacks.
Gregory is unknown right now.
Lawrence has 1 sack this year
And last is Mincey who has a career total of 26 sacks in his 8 year career, with the most he ever had in a season is 8.
They went against a horrible Seattle line and managed 0 sacks.

We who? I said it was stupid to rush to extend Crawford. Also who was sold on Lawrence? Finally, Hayden us the guy everybody wanted to replace.

Lynch was held to 3.4 ypc and Wilson had a rating of 81.3
We held a team to 13 points and lost and you want to complain about the defense?

This 0-5 thing we are in the middle of makes people cranky. Romo comes back, we start scoring more points, the DL gets more and better opportunities to get sacks, we get more sacks, Marinelli walks on water again.

Good grief, Hardy was about 15 yards from outscoring our offense and winning the football game....

Thats all good, but seriously 0 sacks against a team that has given up over 30 sacks is horrible. Plus I didnt blame the defense for losing this game, just pointing something out.

Yes we needed to get more pressure. Honestly you can argue you need to get more pressure in every single game you lose. As far as it goes right now we need players to make plays. The only player on the team who's making plays right now consistently, outside of the oline, is Hardy. But no one player, outside of an elite QB like 9, can make enough plays on their own to win a game.

Exactly

Sacks are big, but Wilson definitely wasn't comfortable in the pocket. They rolled him out quite a bit on passing downs because of the pressure. I have few complaints about what our defense has shown the last 2 weeks.

The team's thinking that they don't need a talented 1-tech is flawed. You need a guy who can consume blocking and jam up the middle of the pocket. Hayden is routinely blocked by one player.

Crawford may be content with his new deal which falls back on coaching to get him motivated.

Gregory needs to get healthy. He's a speed guy so he has to be able to push off that ankle.

Lawrence is improving and I can deal with improving.

Hardy is a madman and is doing exactly what he should be on the field. He just doesn't have a lot of help.

Jack Crawford is a try hard guy but an upgrade is needed.

Jeremy Mincey is one-trick pony and we should move on after this season.

David Irving is intriguing. He's young, tall, and athletic and has some position flexibility.

Ryan Russell is JAG'ish.

I am surprised that someone is surprised that our D is held together by baling wire and glue and that many are journeymen or so inexperienced that they would contribute so little.
It was as if Jerra was in a daze, so confident that our offense could score so many points that a defense would be superf . . . superflou . . . would be a sidelight.
All summer I railed that we had a great offense but a below-average (if that) defense with a very very overrated secondary.
Now the cows have left home to roost and we are facing an early out of playoffs contention. And we are surprised our defense is a shambles while our offense was one QB away from being like the Raiders of old.

Now the big problem is that we need a RB and QB for our offense in the draft but the defense's needs are greater than even 3 future drafts to handle.

They have not been in a situation to really pin their ears back and go get the QB.

Bingo! Let's get up 21-0 for a game and see how it plays out! Why would any team take any chances they don't have to with a gutless coach and horrible offense? This is exactly how teams played Dallas when we had Qcar.

You did see what happened on the last drive right? Focusing more on getting a sack and lost containment on a couple of crucial 1st down runs by Wilson? They were more focused on containing Wilson than getting sacks most of that game and for the most part it worked.

Yeah I agree with the above. Judge them when they actually have a offense to give them some support. Since Hardy has been here I actually like the line. This is Lawrences first real year, Crawford has been disappointing, Gregory is a rookie and Hardy has looked great. Hayden has been Hayden. They didn't get to Russell yesterday because he was getting the football out fast. Even then, they got there and hit him.

Nauseating really.

As of right now I think the defense is fine. Its about as good as it should be. The offense is the one letting us down.
