Struggling is one thing, but to lose FIVE straight games is inexcusable.

We just needed one freaking win to be in control of this joke division.

This team still has the opportunity to win 2 games before Tony returns. The losses have been close so it's reasonable to assume the team has a very good shot at winning vs. Philadelphia and Tampa.

You forgot to capitalize inexcusable by the way.

Yeah sure they have a chance against another couple of bad football teams, but based what we've seen in his losing streak they'll find someway to lose like they always do. That's who the Dallas Cowboys are. That's their identity and it has been for quite some time.

How so? Garrett's had a pretty good roster and has accomplished nothing.

Elite quarterback in Romo.

Elite reciever in Dez.

Elite tight end future hall of Famer in Witten.

Very solid RB for four seasons and played at an elite level in 2013 and 2014.

Best pass rusher in football for about a 7 year span in Ware.

Rest of the defense is pretty average, but they weren't so bad we couldn't win with them. Even in 2013 we could've won with that awful defense if we ran Murray more.

Garrett has cost us so many games over the years with his flagrant lack of game management and routinely allowing a dominant reciever like Dez to be taken out of the game because of an atrocious scheme.

Week to week league. Any given Sunday. It really is that simple.

He said Garrett has no semblance of competence. That's hyperbole.

I think he's helped greatly in acquiring talent cause lord knows working with Jerry can't be a treat. But his coaching doesn't show much competence to me.

I agree, put him in the owners box with Jerry or give him a top notch OC with a new system. Keep our old OC out of the offense and play calling, he can coach practice and clap during the game.

Isn't the main point of posting on Fanzone to analyze and discuss the team?

If anyone wants a good example of hyperbole, look above.

I think you are confusing hyperbole with cliche and generalizations. Keep in mind I am a JC transfer and I could be wrong but guess who is at the top of his night school class? It sure aint Joe Lopez, Iggy Nelson or Joanna Wright, is it?????

I agree about addressing the position but you are not offering any insight, you're just stating the obvious. Who should we have drafted, because I didn't see anyone worth drafting that we could of obtained realistically. Fitz, Vick are injured and McCoy can't beat cousins for the job. Why would you believe we would be in any different position with those guys? You would be the one belly aching that we wasted a draft pick on a qb that hasn't developed (see McGee) or for signing an aging vet which would lead to you criticizing the front office. It's a lose-lose scenario and from what it seems you cannot offer any better alternative, you arm chair gm you. I'd like to hear what you have to say since you clearly have the solution to the problems our team has.

And FYI I am not defending the front office I am just tired of people like you with the constant: shoulda, woulda, coulda position but yet cannot offer a better solution.

How about drafting a quarterback for once? We haven't drafted one since Stephen McGee. They saw what Weeden was last year and they stuck with him. That was the most pathetic, horrific quarterback performance all season and they BROUGHT HIM BACK. There were a number of backups out there that would've been improvements. You had Fitzpatrick who has played well for the Jets. Vick was out there. McCoy was out there. All would've been better than the current bums.

Had the coaches done nothing different this year than they have and nothing changed in the whole season except that the defense held on to a couple-three more interceptions, and the offense had a couple of less INT's and fumbles... we be sitting here with about two or three more wins and nobody would be complaining about any of the coaches.

We know Marinelli coaches turnovers... but they just haven't fallen our way. That isn't Marinelli's fault. That would have been overcome had Romo and Dez been playing... but with them out too, it was enough to cause some very close losses (NO, NYG, Seattle).

Throw in that so many players (besides just Dez and Tony) missed so much time early in the season and it is no surprise that the team has struggled.

I'd take Sean Payton if he leaves New Orleans.

Was just thinking of him the other day.

He says he loves it there so it sounds like he's not leaving.

He's the exact opposite of Garrett, which is what many here are clamouring for. Very aggressive, big time risk taker. Know's how to get the points on the board, that's for sure. But he would drive us crazy at times too. Just different ways.

I think he's a hell of a coach but he never seems to get both sides of the ball working at the same level.

When the Saints won the SB years back their defense was right up there in the turnover category. That was the difference in complementing the offense. They went right at the Colts in all 3 facets of that game. Jimmy Johnson style.

The truth is that no matter how much Weeden sucks, or how poorly Cassel has played, or how bad a play caller Linehan has been or how poor a head coach Garrett is and even how bad an owner Jerry and son are, the fact is that you can win off of scheme alone.
The Patriots have won with their scheme for many years now. When Rodgers broke his collar bone they even won with scheme. When injuries take place and especially to the QB position the number one thing to have established is a scheme that can help a team and its QB to still move the ball and produce. We are lacking in that department. Our scheme is not good at all.

Let me give you these two stats and I am done:

1. Cassel 11-5
2. Flynn 6 TDs in one game

Cassel has not been productive since leaving the Patriots and Flynn can't even land a job.

Seriously????? Let me remind you of one HUGE difference . Belicheck is 10000X better than Garret, end of story!

That's what gets me about MOST of the JG support group. When Parcells was here with a MUCH MUCH les talented roster they complained he had the team playing not to lose. Now it's golden boy doing the same thing only worse an it's every thing but what he's doing as coach. Head scratcher for sure.
