Do Cowboys replace Marinelli w/ Lovie Smith?

Lovie would be an addition not a replacement.

This. Marinelli is doing NOTHING wrong...getting a better group of coaches would just help the D progress further (assuming Lovie would come to a job that isn't HC or DC somewhere else)

I would love to bring Lovie aboard. He and Rod are tight.

Everywhere I read, particularly among posts from Bucs fans they're all saying the Tampa 2 defense is outdated. Maybe we need to get someone else in here.

Not sure where Lovie would go. He did coach linebackers for a while.

Marinelli, Kiffin and Lovie seem to have loyalty towards each other. I would like to have Lovie here, but I don't know where he would fit in here at this time.

Given the non-entity we have at the HC position, can't see how it could hurt to add another former HC to the staff. At least Lovie has won some games in this league (even took Rex Grossman to the SB), unlike the other former head coaches on staff.

If not Lovie, then maybe some of the Defensive assistants.I don't know much about them, are they any good? Leslie Frazier-DC? Gil Byrd-CB? Joe Cullen- DL? Michael Smith- Safeties? Hardy Nickerson- LB? Any insights?

To many open positions for Lovey not to find another HC job, if he wants it.

Marinelli is probably the best coach here. It makes no sense to fire him, and no way would Lovie accept the position if Marinelli was fired given their history of friendship..

I can see Lovie going to Philly or NY and try to get Marinelli out of Dallas to join him.

???? Defense was not our problem this year. Why would Lovie replace Marinelli???? Now he could possibly end up here but it will not be as DC.

Defense was absolutely a problem last year as it has been the past few years. Especially 4th quarter defense. Did you actually watch any of the games this year?
