The Vikings played not to lose the entire game and did just that. The more aggressive teams are 3/3 so far this post season.

This was a Vikes team that went for it on fourth down in their own territory in the first quarter.

Their problem was not aggressiveness. Their problem was they missed the game winning chip shot.

The Seahawks offense wasn't aggressive in todays game, either. I also don't think the Chiefs were very aggressive on offense yesterday. They didn't need to be with the way Hoyer played.

And that is precisely why you stay aggressive and don't rely on your kicker. Field goals should be last resort, not a first line plan of attack.

That was the right way to play it. the probabilities of missing that FG from that distance is less than a fumble (bengals), botched snap, INT, etc from going for it

you
Had they thrown a pick forcing into coverage against those safeties on any of those three drives, or not converted the tds, the fg wouldn't have mattered anyway.
you have to be aggressive in the post season, you can't play not to lose which is how Minny played; nursing a 3 FG lead. If they get a TD instead of one of those FGs the FG at the end wouldn't matter.

But they kept him inactive to start the season....

I believe the team just wanted to see what Michael had, they liked him in the draft so they felt he was a good insurance policy. It didn't work out and I don't think he has proven he is any better than what we have...our running game was solid this season especially when you consider how much of a mess our offense was all season.

He was kept inactive because the 7th rounder was conditional based on CMikes playing time. The inactivity and lack of carries certainly didn't help him. The Cowboys didn't waste anytime using Turbin when he arrived. The running game wasn't consistent this season especially in short yardage you're just focusing on McFadden's rushing total which wasn't that impressive based on him having a career high in carries behind arguably the best OL in football. An elite back would have had 1500+ behind this line and 10+ TD's.

Once we reached the redone McFadden got stuffed putting pressure on our passing game which is why our point totals were way down this season. McFadden won't be the lead back next season he's not a bell cow and no longer has elite speed. In the opener Romo had to carry the offense with McFadden and Randle averaging less than 4.0 a carry. The running game wasn't close to what it was last season and it exposed our backup QBs. Even Murray had a longer run from scrimmage this season than McFadden.

I feel they didnt think Teddy could handle the weather,he only opened up in that final drive.

No, the result was they missed a game winning chip shot. Their problem was running the ball on first down 90% of the time and playing about as conservative as possible.

So who we rootin' for gents?

Skins haven't won a playoff game in 10 years. They're more pathetic than we are.

But I'm a fan of Kirk Cousins. He's proof in the pudding of how to develop a young QB. Draft one with potential in the mid rounds, and let him sit and learn for 3 years. It's finally come together for him. I'm very happy for him. The patience is paying off.

I wish we could have done something similar with a young, developmental QB. Maybe it would have saved our season.
