Why do our fans laugh at the Giants' philosophy?

When they are the ones who have won 2 super bowls the last decade? Where does the hubris come from? 2014? lol

One team in the division is going all out to win a Super Bowl for their aging quarterback. I don't want to hear about "Romo friendly" anymore. I don't want to hear about the "Romo/Witten window". The franchise's non-actions today show they are not desperate to win for these two.

They won with a pass rush and they are trying to recreate that. Don't be surprised if they take another toolsy, athletic DE type in the draft too. Maybe a guy like Tapper from OU.

They didn't win 2 super bowl in the last decade by spending big in free agency. They won it by drafting well and coaching up the players they had. If I recall the first season after Tiki Barber and Jeremy Shockey were gone they won a Super Bowl. 2 me first guys that weren't good for the locker room.

If they signed JJ Watt I would be nervous. But they signed a guy for close to the same money who doesn't even get as many sacks in one year compared to 4 games for Watt. I'm not too concerned about the Giants.

So you are Jerry. What would have you done in FA this year?

They are also getting quality off field players, potential team leaders. There is something to be said about that vs. guys with off field issues. Just sayin.

Giants didn't win two super bowls making these kind of moves. These are moves of desperation and they rarely work out.

My point is that franchise has done it. We haven't it. Broncos proved this year that there are multiple ways to win. Their window is closing with Eli, so they have to speed up the process a bit by being aggressive in FA. Tell me a franchise that won by signing bargain bin jags like Gachkar and Brinkley? It looks like we're heading down that route again this year.

Who knows why they're hating?
I thought the Giants made some nice signings today.

Wow if we compare every signing to Watt and his production then every signing in the league would look funny in the light.

Because its easier to swallow what your own team does or doesn't do by finding a way to rationalize. I'm sure theres fans in Cleveland right now praising their team for avoiding overpaying their own guys and how they can really turn it around with all those comp picks next year.

It is a little difficult to relate to a system where the owner holds the GM accountable and people can get fired if they don't win.

It is also hard to understand an organization that is not comfortable with substituting relevance for actual tangible winning.

I mean, those people up there in New York? They just won a Super Bowl in the last decade! They are crazy!

Since we need pass rush, would you have forked up that contract for that player? Honestly, I haven't much about him. I would think he would have had more production with some of the guys he played with on the Miami defensive line.

This...We have a part time owner/gm when they are one in the same. How many organizations win with a part time gm? JJ is booking events in AT&T stadium while other full-time GM are going about their business building teams.

I'm not laughing at the Giants, but they are taking a huge risk with these big signings. We've seen enough of FA to know it's generally better to sit tight and cherry pick and get most of your improvement through the draft.

I just speak the truth man. Not hating on the Cowboys today, I think there are many ways to assemble a good team. With that said though if we landed vernon and Jenkins this board wold be flooded with super bowl talk.

Well then allow me to "hate" (speak truthfully) on them. They are woefully mismanaged and just wing it year by year hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. Anyone expecting some brilliant plan to be in place isn't living in reality.

This is the Dallas Cowboys of today. The one you long for is dead. They don't exist anymore.
