Why do our fans laugh at the Giants' philosophy?

When we signed Hardy last year and got Gregory in the draft I thought we solved our defensive line problems. I think Giants fans think that way right now. Time will tell, but I don't think it is going to make them an elite defense.

Precisely.

i keep seeing people complain about the Cowboys not making big moves, like they forgot Greg Hardy already.

The difference is, the Cowboys were much more 'buyer' savvy.

When they are the ones who have won 2 super bowls the last decade? Where does the hubris come from? 2014? lol

One team in the division is going all out to win a Super Bowl for their aging quarterback. I don't want to hear about "Romo friendly" anymore. I don't want to hear about the "Romo/Witten window". The franchise's non-actions today show they are not desperate to win for these two.

Because in the last 10 years the Giants have won nothing and we have won 2 SBs

We were so buyer savvy that we built a great football team that was a DJAX fumble away from losing every single game without its starting QB.

I'm glad Hardy's well handled contract contributed to that.

I swear some people just want to be miserable.

I don't laugh at the philosophy but I do laugh at that insane contract for Vernon. If Jerry did that same deal for Vernon ID be furious

The players we got had obvious red flags
The giants players don't

Next excuse please.....

What? Free agents pretty much all have red flags. That's why they're free agents.

Snacks is being moved to a new position.
Jenkins wasn't the best corner on his own team and had a ridiculous DL protecting him. He's now the 2nd highest paid player at his position.
OV has had 14 sacks in the last two seasons and he had better players next to him than he will in NY. He's now the highest paid player at his position.
JPP has 8.5 fingers.

They've spent close to a quarter of a billion on these guys. The new players have combined for 0 Pro Bowl appearances. They all have red flags.

Because they gave Olivier Vernon $85 million. This is a guy that played next to Wake and Suh and somehow managed to get a half sack less than our own DeMarcus Lawrence. They paid $62.5 million for Janoris Jenkins.

It really isn't even worth debating how stupid that is, but maybe it's just my hubris showing.

What excuse? The guys that they signed haven't exactly lit up the world in sacks either. I made a statement. Hardy had more sacks and production than Vernon.

Vernon hit Romo 4 times in that game, lined up against Tyron when Wake was out for the season.

What a scrub.

Helluva post and very accurate. The Giants have a better front office and have for many years. They proved it again today. Even the Skins have re-tooled on the fly and become solid again. Eagles? They are probably on the right track as well....meanwhile Jerrah and his buddies slog along. We are clearly behind the Skins and GSpots at this point and time. Eagles might be similar to us: a 6-8 win team depending on the health of the starting QB. Riveting.

Overpaid decent/good corner - check
Overpaid decent/good defensive end - check
Overpaid decent/good defensive tackle - check

I'm not "laughing" at them, but I'm not sure in what universe you people are floating around in that I should crying about this.

Well then allow me to "hate" (speak truthfully) on them. They are woefully mismanaged and just wing it year by year hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. Anyone expecting some brilliant plan to be in place isn't living in reality.

This is the Dallas Cowboys of today. The one you long for is dead. They don't exist anymore.

It's true. Brutally honest but true. If they draft Bosa I'm out for good. Been a die hard fan since '78 but Jones is a clown and his cronies in the front office aren't much better. Yeah, I know...."well.......BYE".

The Giants and the Eagles had coaching turnovers at the end of this past regular season.
You just know that there are going to be turnovers in personnel.
How it is going to turn out for them? We'll see.
Just like Romo, Eli is another year older too.
