We will regret not going up for Carson Wentz

We need to weed out the riff raff around here.

Hard to say, I do think the Cowboys should take Wentz or Goff if they stay at #4, should they trade out of the 4th spot for extra picks I still like Lynch. Outside of those 3 QB not very enthused with the rest.

While I'm laughing, singing, dancing, raising glory, you're not so innocent, praying at the alter of Wentz.

No one, not you, not draft experts, not gm's, no one knows that Wentz will be a solid starter in the NFL.
Every QB is a gamble, even at the top of round 1. For every Aikman and even every Carson Palmer there are 5-10 Jarmarcus Russell's, Ryan Leaf's, and Gino Smith's.

No one really knows if Wentz will be the next Andrew Luck or just smoke and mirrors who said the right things and looked the part but never catches up to the speed of the NFL after playing in the college minor leagues.

Wentz would have to be the next Tom Brady or Manning for us to give up an impact player like Ramsey or Billings and a stud defensive lineman in the second to trade up for. It is possible that Wentz is worth that. But filling two holes is worth a lot.

Andrew luck isn't even living up to the andrew luck hype!

I agree. Jerry thinks we can win now but he's wrong. This roster has not improved since we went 12-4. We are getting older and slower

Actually we are one of the youngest teams in the league. We have lots of issues, but being too old isn't one of them.

For the record, despite grandpa Romo and papa Witten and uncle Free, our average age is only 26 right now.

Cowboys 26.02
Rams, the youngest in the NFL is only a year younger 24.92

It's kind of hard to regret something you have no control over. If the Titans are indeed selling the top pick, there's no guarantee the Cowboys would even have the best offer. Regret is usually saved for players you directly passed on.

this, there's every chance a trade happens at #1 or #3 and bothQB's are gone.

We don't even know if they will be studs. Everyone thought Claiborne was going to be a shutdown corner and look how that turned out. I'd rather gamble with a QB. Every player is a gamble.

People are going to be extremely mad if we dont draft a defensive lineman in the 2nd

It's as simple as that.

Yes we may have an all pro corner in Ramsey or a solid at best Defensive end in Bosa but it's going to be hard watching Wentz have success at a high level while our QB is falling apart and asked to do too much because coaching doesn't happen here.

I am so upset to hear that we really aren't interested in QB's and we are more likely to go after a guy like Prescott who doesn't provide immediate help and probably doesn't give us longterm help.

No position effects the game like QB. The NFL is all about the coaching and QB and if we at least have a QB it makes Garrett look like he has a clue.

This will be completely unforgivable if Carson Wentz is a stud. I don't care if our pick turns out well either. You have to grab a QB when the opportunity presents itself.

Also, the fact they coached this guy at the Senior bowl and still didn't make it a priority to go and get him.

I got a bad feeling we're going to restructure Carr, Draft Bosa, reach for Prescott in the 2nd, and there we will be.

I know the draft is a long way away but I just have to get this out of my system.

What are the upcoming mega millions lottery numbers?

What exactly is Wentz doing to generate all of this hype? A couple of months ago, it was Goff and Lynch as the top guys everyone wanted and now all of a sudden Wentz is this guaranteed franchise qb.

If they love him enough they should take him.

But no offense Catch, you did for sure say this about Manziel two years ago.

I'm not at all saying they're the same player...not remotely...but you did voice very loudly your love for Lil Johnny.

Anyway, fwiw, I wouldn't completely rule out us getting Wentz. Kind of doubt it, but I really don't think it's off the table completely.

I agree 110% with your post and would say that if anyone has an inside track on Wentz and his whole array of skills (talent, brains, memory, ability to learn, ability to adapt, ability to free lance, etc...) it is the Cowboys. They coached him up a few weeks ago and should have been in the best position to really dig deep into his readiness to play QB in the NFL.

The relative quiet surrounding the Cowboys about him speaks to either a true fascination with him and not wanting to show their hand or a complete dislike of him to where they wouldn't consider drafting him in almost any round.

My guess is that they really like him, but don't want to add any fuel to another team to grab him. But I have been wrong once before. ;)

My fear is that Jerry and crew will not pull the win now mentality in free agency as we see but use the win now mentality in the draft even though we know in the short term that is problematic.

I prefer Wentz as QB @4, however, I would take Goff if the Browns do indeed take Wentz @2.

I do not think the Cowboys are taking either to be honest and very well could get a kings ransom for @4 if one is available and they decide to pass and take trade offers.

If not, I see the usual top 5 as possibilities with Zeke being doubtful but an interesting trade down option.
