Best way to duplicate running game success of 2014 is to first try to get Murray back and when you don't you get someone just like him but better. I like the move.
Bye bye McFadden though. I believe he will be a cut after the draft when we add a dynamic back. Morris is definitely a workload, heavy leaning back. Perfect for our line.

Might get a young guy later but even that's debatable. I think it's McFadden, Morris and Dunbar. And you know what? I like it. Guys with two different styles, but both can be efficient behind this line. Both are reliable in pass protection too, which is a vastly underrated skill, especially when you have a Romo back there.

Only 27 years old. Behind this O-Line. Hard worker. Cheap deal.

It's hard not to like this signing.

Last year, Morris converted on all five of his carries on third down and 2 or less. Over the past three years, he's 14 of 17 (82.3 percent). On second downs, he's 34 of 42 (81 percent). For comparison, the NFL average is 68 percent on third downs and 68.2 percent on second downs.

If nothing else, he might be our short-yardage guy.

My guess is that any interest for Elliott just lessened. That leaves Henry, Prosise, and that kid from FSU as the only viable options at RB, at least for me.

I remember having a debate with someone on this forum (can't remember who) who was trying to downplay Morris' performance for the Commanders. This was when DeMarco Murray was about to walk away from the Cowboys.

It's interesting to me how depending on who is on our team, fans argue to the hilt in defense of the guy, but when he leaves, somehow he was a bum all along. Conversely, it's interesting to see the praise for Morris now that he's a Cowboy when some posters here minimized his impact when he was with the Commanders.

That's how you can identify a true homer.

Anyway, just my two cents (and this was not directed at you, Bowdown27).

And you could've said the same for Warner of Save A Lot - but he made it.

That's how I see him. Spells McFadden for a few series. Comes in when we're in short-yardage situations.

It would be nice in those situations and goal-line situations not to have to pass the ball because we know our chances of converting by running it are low. McFadden is a nice speed back who builds up power, which leaves us with a need for someone who can power through a bunched-up defense without much of a head start.

What's bizarre is that you would underestimate the Giants with OBJ, Cruz and Elliott. I know they have holes elsewhere and so do we but a player like Elliott going to a division rival counts.

Everything matters and while we can certainly dictate on offense the defense hasn't exactly been known to "do it's job" the past few years.

I think it remains to be seen whether Cruz can play again, much less be a threat.
