Brugler was on 105.3 the fan today and said the Cowboys see him as a corner. They love him at that position according to him, even though he only had 1 year playing it. Very similar to Byron Jones, who one could argue is just as explosive athletically as Ramsey. We've all see Byron for a season and it's awfully apparent to me he's better at safety then corner, although he played pretty well at corner.

His thought that at that position it would be up and down year as he's not use to playing with his back to the QB, but use to being at safety seeing the whole field where he can diagnose and wreck things.

Sighhhhh......this is why I do not trust our scouts when looking at DB's.

He's a Team Leader, hope he makes it to 4. Sure Ramsey can play Corner, he is all over the field like the next Troy Polamahu. So I doubt he makes it past San Diego.

I think most people think safety is his best position and that's one of the problems I have with taking him. I think he can be a decent CB and a very good safety. But if you believe in best player availible and tunsil, Wentz and Goff are gone he is by far the BPA. He will have to play CB till we can get another CB because we aren't bringing Carr back next year and mo is in question. So at least in the short term he will have to play CB but eventually I think he ends up at safety. With what is likely to happen with the top 3 picks I don't see anyone else likely to be there who is a higher rated player

Byron Jones played more Safety than CB in college and had some very good games playing corner for the Cowboys. The current group of scouts has the benefit of the doubt IMO after the last couple of drafts - and a perennial Pro Bowl CB has a lot more value than one playing Safety.

If the Cowboys think he is an elite CB, that increases his value in my eyes.

Wentz, Goff, and Tunsil going 1-2-3 is far and away my worst case scenario.

If he's Ed Reed 2.0 I have no problems with taking him at 4, as there was NO better leader than he at Miami. However. When you make 42 starts and have 3 picks I'm sorry, that doesn't cut it. I like the player, but at 4? Very steep. At #4 I need a consecutive All Pro player. Not pretty good.

I just can't see Tunsil here Stash. That would be over 80 million guaranteed at right and left tackle with 3 more to pay, and Zach will be the highest paid guard in football soon. It's awesome to think about, but not reality.

He's consistently the top rated Defensive Player in the Draft. No question.

It's between Tunsil and Ramsey for #1 Overall. That's from GMs to Reporters, your Draft Sites to your self perceived Draft Guru me-me-me fans, to regular freaks even.

You're right he is, along with Jack. But at Safety. And as stated above our lovely staff see him at Corner.

Tunsil being there at 4 is great for us. I agree we aren't taking him but it gives you a player someone might trade up for
If tunsil, Goff and Wentz go in the top 3 then trading don't just doesn't look like an option to me. In that scenario Ramsey is going to be the BPA and probably the pick. There really is few other options. As I said earlier I like Bosa better than most here but as someone who likes Bosa I couldn't take him over Ramsey

I think he will end up at safety but early on he will play CB because that's where the need is

I agree. I think it means our only option is picking at 4.im not opposed to picking at 4 but it's nice to have options

Where's the math behind that $80 million guaranteed mention? Are you referring to the $20 million the Cowboys will owe the #4 overall pick?

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this team has Zack Martin under contract for another two years with an option for a third before having to give him that huge contract right?

So that's 2019 before we have to shell out the big bucks for him. And two more years before Collins even hits restricted free agency.

Now, if we're still paying $20 million plus to Tony Romo at that time too? Yeah, that will make everything tight. But if it's a young quarterback on his rookie deal, that opens things up considerably. And if you're talking about drafting Tunsil, that means that the top two quarterbacks are gone and you're not drafting one in the first round either. So, whoever lines up behind center is likely to be working cheap.

If Tunsil is what most believe him to be, getting that level of play for $5 million a year would be considered a bargain.

Really? So you're claiming that trade up that just happened was so that the Rams could draft Jalen Ramsey?

I hope it doesnt take them a whole season to realize he is a safety like they did with Byron jones.

That shouldn't be the issue bro. Or even an issue. He is a superior addition to the team that gets him. Versatile is his middle name.

You know who else is versatile? Byron Jones. A good player that can play corner or safety. Unfortunately, like this draft's top defensive players, he didn't make any game-changing plays either.

Give me a playmaker at one position who makes game-changing plays, and you can keep the versatile guys who line up all over the place and do nothing to affect the outcome of the games.
