Good gawd almighty.

Who gives a flying crap about leading the league in rushing? Fantasy football dorks, that's who.

Right so you want to take Zeke why? So he can lead the league in pancake blocks? Sacks? How old are you? Seriously. You cant be over 20 years old.

Not all teams run the same offense Carolina was ran the ball more than any team out there and that is part of what gave them success. I think Cam is a good QB but he is not going to stand back there and throw all game long and give Carolina the chance to win. Running game means a lot to different teams. Not everyone runs a all passing offense some team use balance of the attack to produce. I will never say passing is not important it is but the run game for some teams is a big part of what they do on offense. This argument gets to the point of being silly and for those who feel run game has no bearing on winning all I can say is there are teams who have played in recent SB who would disagree of the importance of their run game to their teams success

So you don't agree with the pick.....We get it. But eventually you will have to live with it and get over it. Plain and simple.

I like Zeke and think he will be amazing. In fact, I have lobbied for quite a while that we needed a great back to team with this line. But using the 4th pick to do that is bad value. Now I would love to get over it, but every other thread is about how Zeke was a great pick and he is going to save the Cowboys.

I am completely with Adam here,EE will be great but wont make a lick of difference if we cant pass the ball effectively especially against the blitz.

These arguments are always interesting to me. So when Romo was passing us to playoff glory but couldn't get us to the next round, it was because he didn't have backfield help or defensive help.

But now that we get backfield help, it's that we're not going anywhere without Romo?

Or is it we need Romo as much as Romo needs a running game and a defense?

People saying our defense is bad. .....we have more talent now then we did in 2014 with all them turnovers. I see no reason while this can't be a top 10 defense. They played pretty decent last year even though we couldn't move the ball 5 yards on offense.

With a elite offense, controlling the clock and scoring teams will no longer be able to win in the last few minutes. They will have to score giving our fresh defense chances for turnovers and stops, giving the ball back to our offense

I see more pass rush potential with this DL, or secondary is getting our captain back plus Jones will have a year under his belt.

Adding Thornton is really going to see a huge change to this front 7. Our LBs won't have to dodge Hayden being pushed in to them. Crawford can manage his job, granted Dlaw and Gregory are out the first 4 games but with Collins, Tapper, Irving, Mayowa, J. Crawford we are very deep and young on DL.

He brings back the attitude that got them to 12-4 in the first place. Without him, they'll be lucky to see 8-8 this season. McFadden scares nobody because he isn't productive when it matters. He's the prince of garbage time stats.

Just listen to the offensive linemen talk about Zeke. They are freaking out with excitement. He makes them look awesome, and he can cover their mistakes at times, too.

It's been forever since we had a home run back, and that will help Romo immensely to stay healthy.

Which game did McFadden pile up the garbage stats?

Commanders? Only had 2 carries for 22 yards after the team was down 24-14
Buffalo? Score was 16-6. We were "in it" till the end
New York? Close game till the end
Green Bay? We lost 28-7, but McFadden only had 2 carries for 3 yards after we scored to make it 7-14.
Miami? No garbage time there. He closed out the game
Philly? We lost in OT.
New York? We lost by 7, Never was down more by 7 at any time either.

Tell me, where was his garbage yards at?

Terrell Davis saved Elway by winning Superbowls. ....which he couldn't do without him

I suspect the response to this will be that Carolina did not succeed because if their offensive run game nor their offensive pass game, but rather their defensiveness effectiveness vs. the pass. In that respect they may not be a good counterexample to the argument that differential in the passing game is what bears most on winning.

I think its time that we get a seperate page for ZEKE threads. Im am not big on limiting the main page, but every other thread is some annoying poster talking about how Great Zeke will be. I dont think anyone disputes that. Lets just move on can we not?

And these are the same guys who for 3 months before the draft did the same thing with ANOTHER Zeke thread. Moderators any thoughts?

Preach, brother. Preach.

While I agree you don't win consistently without a good passing game, there are so many stats of teams that are winning when their running back gets over 100 yards. While the running game may not be winning those games, the threat of a running game makes the passing game easier and thus would be a correlation. They don't have to get 100 yards in a game to have an effect either. The threat just has to be there. I am not sure that can be measured. If a defense has to put 8 in the box to stop the running game, everyone knows the passing game got much simpler and the QB reads got easier as well.

Doesn't that explain why Romo had one of his best statistical years ever in 2014?
