Signed by Cowboys Durant signs with Dallas

This thread has over 1.600 views and only 9 people like this. Pretty much proving it's a bad move for the Cowboys.

Durant is a backup player. His signing was expected not a surprise. How many 'likes' you got doesn't prove wether it is a good move or a bad move for the Cowboys by any means.

Hitchens - Durant - Lee is serviceable.

Wilson and Nzeocha have a 10-game audition until Rolando returns.

Wilber and Gachkar are 0's to me.

Gachkar is one of our best special teams players and is a solid guy in the locker room. He's all in and will do whatever you ask him to do. You simply cannot have enough of those types of guys with the cap stipulations the league imposes.

Gachkar is also a remarkable LB athlete:

Height: 6023
Weight: 233
40 Yrd Dash: 4.56
20 Yrd Dash: 2.70
10 Yrd Dash: 1.60
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 18
Vertical Jump: 34
Broad Jump: 09'10"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.29
3-Cone Drill: 6.95

His sideline to sideline speed is excellent for covering the flats and outside runs plus he carry most TE and RB down the field. I don't get the hate at all.

I don't think it makes the Cowboys any worse... that's a plus, right?

He is a vintage linebacker and is very knowledgeable to the Dallas defense. He brings both perspective as well as package skills. That is very relevant.

Also, he has the vantage point of being able to see the defense as an opponent would. That alone could be very valuable in the mix of a solid linebacker group...

I'm not discounting his value; of the available linebackers who could assist in replacing Ro, he was the best option.

And when Lee gets hurt what are they gonna do?

Cause its gonna happen ........ like clockwork.

Those 18 reps on bench press for Gach is kinda weak for a LB but i got nothing against him. Hes young and hopefully can develop into something. I'll like durant as insurance.

man no one said it yet.....championship.....

I like this move, adds depth and possibly starts. He is not the game changer most want, but he make me feel better about the D going into the season.

As for Gachkar and Wilber comments, they both are very good ST's players. Wilber is versatile. I been ready to move on from him at times. As he seems lost at times, then can make a good play.
I think part of it, he has been moved around so often. They need to put him at one position. He went from a 3-4 to the 4-3, expected to rush then goes to other assignments. But the coaches like him. So I will hope for the best, again.

There were a few interesting players that could have pushed to make the team, but I wouldn't call Durant a progress stopper for them. As I felt they were bubble guys and mostly PS candidates. Durnat is the better option.

In 80 possible starts in his career he has 60. That kind of "Cause its gonna happen ........ like clockwork" injury?

Solid player, solid signing. Between him and Sean Lee, the Cowboys will get 16 games at WLB from a quality player. :)

All kidding aside, I hope he can reverse his trend of being injured. When he's on the field, he's an intelligent, instinctive player. Having guys like Lee and Durant on the field at the same time will be a big boon on nickel downs.
