Let's be logical here. Dak has a better arm, is stronger, can actually use his legs and run if nobody is open etc. Also, he has an elite Oline, elite WR, elite RB, and elite TE. Dak is going to succeed here. This could be a blessing in disgusie.

Well, at least I was correct in my prediction based on viewing the tackle. Right below the ribcage/thoracic is where the strain/sprain/snaps begin with that type of tackle. So I got that going for me, which is common sense, so not much.

Regardless of Tony's injury and time out, his career is not over. He's not going to retire.

1. No human being is going to walk away from the money Dallas owes him when his injury is not a threat to his long term health.

2. Dallas is not walking away from Tony; they can't, not even if they wanted to, and there's no way to recapture his cap hit.

Tony Romo will be a Cowboy for at least two more years. Even if Dak is NFL MVP (lol), Tony won't retire, and we can't cut him. He will either start or be the veteran backup to Dak or someone else. He's not going to walk away from some of the biggest pay days of his career

Aside from how ridiculous this statement is in general, is it not obvious by now that his longterm health has already been effected? If you can't recover to 100% and you're at an increased risk of recurrent injury, that's pretty much your longterm health.

Romo has made more than enough money in his career to be able to walk away. Is there some fantastic thing that you can do with $120M in career earnings that you wouldn't be able to do with $100M, $90M, or even $80M?

He doesn't need the money, and Dallas could easily cut him after this season. In fact, it would create cap room even without spreading the dead money to the following year.

Most of us knew Romo would very likely end up injured this season so this is no surprise, the only surprise is it happened during preseason. No one would have predicted that.

About as bad luck as anyone can have. On a slide he gets injured by someone he can't even see. An injury that is in a new place from all the other ones. I don't care that Dak has been playing great for a rookie. He's still a rookie and being thrown to the wolves so to speak simply isn't an optimal situation.

Agree....this is how you lose a player forever...forcing him into situations when he is not ready. 3 weeks ago....everyone was saying he needed to sit for a year.

He did the franchise a favor and let them restructure his bonus and push it to out years.

No matter what happens, even if Tony never plays again, he should owe the Cowboys nothing.

Should they owe him tens of millions if he's incapable of holding up his end of that contract?

So youd like to see the QB weve lived and died with for the last decade go somewhere else and win a superbowl. Awesome, you should turn in your fan card now.

Well yeah. JJ runs this team. You need something like that to make him realize he is the worst gm ever and needs to step down.

I pray you are right, but he is a rookie regardless. We all might have to temper our expectations a tad due to that fact.

That's why I don't see him retiring at all. We owe him big time money. At least next couple years he will likely be our starter. If not, he's a well paid veteran backup.
none of it is guaranteed..... the team owes him nothing unless they keep him.....14m in 2017, 20m in 2018-19 each is what he is scheduled to earn

Our reality is that we have the most fragile starting QB in the league. He's sneezed at and sprains something. Last night's shot wasn't that bad but for Tony it was a if he was mortally wounded. Any other QB would've gotten up without that much trouble. A bad back has ended many QB's careers including Troy's and it might end Tony's soon.

Glad you found out in three preseason games what the rest of the nfl couldn't figure out watching him.for years in college.
