This is who Drafttek has us taking in their ay to early Mock. If not him, one of the other top DEs. There looks to be a bunch coming out next year. Judging by the complete disaster DE looks like right now, I would take a DE with our top pick, and a CB 2nd. We better hope Dak can and will be the heir apparent behind Tony at some point so we don't have to spend resources on a QB.
 
Deshon Kizer might end up being better than Kelly. Bigger, faster, more mobile.

Hopefully it's moot for us as Prescott turns out to be the real deal.
 

That's fine if you think Kelly will be better.

But let's not act like my comment was out of left field. Seems Kizer is actually a big hit with scouts and some NFL writers to the point where some are suggesting he could be a high first round pick.

Great. So you think Kizer stinks.

Doesn't change the fact that there are NFL scouts and writers who completely disagree with you and the idea that Kizer could be viewed as better than Chad Kelly isn't some random, bizarre comment.

And Kizer is probably the most talented QB he's had at ND or Cincy. They were forced to play Tommy Rees early at ND and Golson turned out to be a dud, when he crapped out at FSU too.

Seriously though, he has shown he can be a playmaker of sorts in regards to turnovers and TFLs, from the SS position.

Might be a tad undersized at 6'2, 200lb.

And for the record, I am not saying that Kizer is the best QB in the country or will be the best QB prospect in the next draft. I still think Watson is pretty much a lock to go off the board as the first QB taken. But I think Kizer very well could be a Top 15 pick in the draft based on what a lot of scouts are now reportedly saying about him.
 
I was surprised Miller had Kizer going #1 over all. No matter what, if there is one true statement, QBs always get over drafted.

I am a big Kizer guy, but even I think some are getting ahead of themselves. I'd still take Watson over him right now. But the kid clearly has skills - big arm, good decision maker, great mobility............ if he continues like this and progresses throughout the season like he has thus far, he'll have a shot at being a Top 10 pick in the next draft.

He could also go back to ND but I would doubt that if he was confident he would be a Top 10 pick.
