MLB/OLB: FLORIDA - Jarrad Davis

I feel that along with our DL our LB crew maybe as weak or the weakest position of our team. Jaylon Smith who I am hoping comes back at 100 next year is not a guarantee. Sean Lee is not getting any younger and after him we are starting journey men 2nd unit players.

Jarrad Davis although 6'2 230 plays like a 250lb lb. He hits and covers and primarily plays MLB for the Gators but moves around. Extracaricular play and will need to tone it down. Reminds me of that enforcer like Ray Lewis and yes it's a comparison but Ray Lewis also started thin of frame.

Derrick Henry says he is the toughest he had played agaisnt. Watch highlight of Davis standing Henry up before he can get first down marker.

Could be some trouble brewing at USC.

Rumors on some of the USC boards that a player punched the head coach and that kids want to transfer out because the team is so dysfunctional.

I'm a member of the board where someone created that rumor. The poster admits he made it up.

Although, I kind of wish it was true.

And he got hurt.
Yes and still put up his numbers missing half of the game.

I'm a Mahomes fan so you're going to have a tough time turning me. That being said, Dak, if nothing else, has earned "next man up" status. No need to draft a QB in 2017.

The next QB I want to draft, the guy I want backing up Dak, is Gage Gubrud of Eastern Washington. He can pass all over the field, run, and even punt.

BTW, my #1 pet cat this year....12 rec, 274 yds, 2 TDs....

Garrett might not want him, but Jerry is another story. He as a few things going for him in that regard a) he is electric b) he is a gunslinger in the Tony Romo, Johnny Manziel, Brett Favre mold and c) He is from Texas, not to mention he has all of the physical tools. Exactly the kind of QB that make old Jerry excited.
we need a back up QB we have our starter

Three FCS Pet Cats

Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova (6-7/290)
He's going to be a combine/all-star game star. A lot of Ziggy Ansah/JPP raw talent to him. Big but very quick and athletic. Can bend around the edge and play RDE. Surprisingly good hand usage for his level. Five sacks, 11 TFLs and fumble return for TD in 5 games so far.

David Jones, CB/FS, Richmond (6-1/210)
Led FCS in interceptions last year. Plays FS but long limbed and moves really well. If he runs sub 4.5 he could get some interest as a CB. Long stride covers a ton of ground. Coming back from broken arm in playoffs last year.

Donald Payne, SS, Stetson (5-11/205)
Looks a lot bigger than listed. Box safety talent. Led all of NCAA in total tackles as a sophomore. Two time def. player of the year in his conference. Effects the game as a hitter, a pass rusher, and in coverage. At minimum, super special teamer.

He's well known because of the big-time program he plays at (Michigan), but I've been watching a lot of Jabril Peppers lately and just really like watching him play (speaking strictly on defense). His high-motor and willingness to be physical is eye-catching and see shades of Tyran Mathieu and Sa'u Cravens...I think he best fits as a SS at the next level.

I had Jones in my first mock......my favorite FCS player is of course, Cooper Kupp.....but, I am also a fan of the other two EWU WRs....Bourne and Hill (both grade out as UDFAs at this point).

I've been watching Donald for a while now. One of my linebackers is a bounceback from Stetson and says that Donald is one of those guys that can do anything, and is constantly amazing everyone at practice. Will be curious to see if he gets a Senior Bowl invite and a chance to compete with players from D1 programs.
