OK. Not a real weakness because this will improve with experience--- Redzone passing. I have not seen a good pass from Dak down in the redzone. All fades and back shoulder stuff. This may be multi factorial from being extra careful with the ball and not taking chances, much harder read since field is compacted, rapport with his receivers. Or maybe the coaches are trying to protect him by conservative play calling.

Nevertheless, if this team wants to win they will need Dak to be better in the Redzone in terms of passing.

I agree but Redzone passing is tough for even veteran QB's. It's not a simple thing to do.

That's why guys like Romo and Rodgers are so nice to have because they buy time and let guys get into space in those areas of the field.

I've seen Dak buy time but he hasn't made the play yet.

We don't use rub routes or pick plays so we are probably going to be limited to lobs to Dez and maybe some play actions.

If I have 1 Dak complaint, and it's nit picky, it's that he was a big play guy all preseason and our offense has lacked big plays so far.

Yep and this is where most young QBs have problems. Wentz did do too but his receivers didnt help.

Inexperience. It's hard down there with 11 defenders crammed within 15-20 yards. Every option looks like an interception.

That's why teams runs so many fades and back shoulders. With the safety up, the slant looks like a pick 6 the other way.

Time to open up the offense ?

Fades and back shoulders..sounds like Linehan and Garrett more than Dak. Maybe they can run some other damn passing plays in the redzone.
They don't design anything that's innovative. I saw Philly last night run this reverse type pass thingy that got them into the end zone. I have an idea, run everything from under center down there, no shot gun, EVER.

I think coaches are trying to protect him and use 1 read pass such as fades and back shoulders.

But I agree with others that rub routes like G men ran against us or bubble screens or RB screens can be very effective as well. With Dak you also have the threat of him running so why not some option roll out with pass or naked boot?

Well, it's only 2 games..... coaches are trying to figure what Dak can do?

Looks like they only give him one read to Dez in the corner of the EZ whether he's covered or not. Waste a down there.

He also hasn't turned the ball over in the RZ and has dropped passes for would be TDs.

Not too worried about the redzone stuff since we've seen him execute on those plays in the preseason. Right now, I think it's the fluke of the small sample size. And the fact that scoring from the 10 yard line in is tough for everybody, and we seem to have gotten into that area quite a bit these first two games here.

No question about the difficulty. Just that we can't settle for FGs. Haven't seen the coach call a "good" passing play....all just fades and back shoulders. Hope they will learn (coach and Dak).
