And fix the defense? And eat Romo's contract? Jerry better ask for a credit line increase on his Amex..

We need to add a WR and improve the defense. Pretty doable.

We're not eating Romo's contract after this season just because you guys are getting ahead of yourselves. Tony's here through the end of next year unless he's an injury retirement, and that seems unlikely given his temperament.

And maybe an OT to replace Free.

..............or a cardboard cut out. That should be an improvement.

I've always been in Free's corner but the last two games................the dude is stuck in mud.

Yeah, we need to either elevate Green and replace the swing OT, or get an OT in. I'd been thinking they're elevating Green and we get a reasonably-priced vet for the swing tackle, but you may be right that we draft one.

I wish Green was ready now, and use Free as swing tackle !

We probably won't see it this year yet, but it's possible. I'm not a big one to Free-bash, but he's definitely struggling with the inside rush. He's getting blamed for some of the outside stuff, too, but Dak can get a bit deep in the pocket now and then.

I think his days are numbered here.

What I don't want to see would be us taking a WR in the top 3 or 4 rounds to replace him, when his production hasn't warranted it.

As for Williams? Yeah, bye. I'm nit talking to him at all about an extension. I'd try to get Butler on the cheap first, or look at the market got a #2 next year. Options shake loose at that spot all the time. Can't afford to pay for that role too.

Not even sure WHY you counted on him as a STARTER if you had no intention of re-signing him past this year. I told you all about this cat a couple of years ago. He has seen single coverage his ENTIRE career. He should be feasting. A legitimate #2 WR would have made things so much easier for the play caller, the QB, the OL etc... I have seen Romo take hits because he saw the coverage roll to Dez....and the proper read is Williams....and when he looked Williams way....Williams was busy playing patty cake with the DB at the LOS!

LOL @"Williams was busy playing patty cake with the DB at the LOS!"

Funny stuff @bbailey423...

Part of me hopes he turns it around before the year is up.
Part of me hopes that if he does not, one of the other WRs make a clear cut case to be the second WR before next off season.

Why?

Because I would rather that not be another major need going into the off season and draft next year when it is clear we need so much help on Defense.

He is, but what is funny is that people think Butler is some stud buried behind him on the depth chart.

How would anyone know until he gets his chance to be the #2 guy and start.
You act as if he is a bust. Give him a shot at it first. This is on the coaches for not getting it done.

Personally, we desperately need a legit #2 who can win some 1-1 battles, and we need a legit blocking TE, even if he is no receiving threat.

Every other FA and draft resource should go to defense now.

So, because we have no plans to resign him and we're upset over his brainless play to end the game , we aren't even going to try and utilize him the rest of the season?
