He isn't. WR's and QB's don't win the big games. Grinders and trench players do. Bryant is just another overhyped..over paid sizzle player and is not important in the bigger picture. Sizzle no substance.

There's not a position on the field more valuable than QB - and it's not even close.

Those 56 touchdowns over 5 years sure kept us sizzling though.

Romo got careless in a preseason game, lost situational awareness (know it's a meaningless preseason game and play it safe) and got hurt. Gave Dak an opportunity on a silver platter. Now there are legitimate questions as to whether Dak is better suited and more talented than Romo to lead this team.

If what is being reported is true that Dez decided he's special and rules don't apply to him, well, I hope someone steps up in his absence. For those making $14M/yr, not a good feeling when the team wins without you.

If what is being reported is true about Dez, I would seriously try to trade him to a team like Cleveland. Never going to win with highly paid, high maintenance, drama queen prone to sideline antics. Bad influence on the younger players who are showing signs of a strong foundation.

Not really wrong. This is the kind of thing that guys like you love to bellyache about, but at the end of the day, the fact that Dez didn't show for and MRI, got fined for it, and ended up missing a meeting amounts to him missing a meeting in the lead up to SF. A distraction, ok, but a minor one.

In two weeks, nobody will remember it. And if anybody asked the players about it now, they're not going to care. Dez comes with some personality issues, period. The team knew that when they signed him and they signed him anyway. Episodes like this are going to happen his entire career and, when they're said and done, they're not going to amount to anything but a bunch of hot hair on a Wednesday afternoon.

Tell yourself whatever you want to when stuff like this happens, but spare the rest of us the spin attempts. Blame it on people for getting upset about it instead of those creating the issue. Brilliant.

And then try to minimize the impact of a selfish player doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and an organization that tries to cover it up for the sake of perception.

I'll say it again, the Cowboys would be smart to divorce themselves from Dez Bryant ASAP.

I wanted to do this after 2014. I saw no reason to blink and give him an extension when he was holding out. He's overrated, injury prone, disappears way too often and frankly, does not make that big on an impact for the money he commands. Now we are stuck with him.

Idgit is right. It's not really a major issue. People who hate Dez will use this to justify their hate. Let's ignore that Dez rushed back last year and played on a broken foot. And let's ignore that he played last weekend with a broken knee. Not many players in the league give as much as Dez gives. We have a thread where people are ripping Dez for trying too hard to get every yard he can.

Waiting an extra day to get an MRI didn't change the results of the MRI or the time frame of his recovery.
Dez isn't perfect...but the team knows that and he is still worth it...

Now back to the regular negativity and Dez rip fest.

Sure, other than the fact that he's getting paid $70 million to do it, it's quite noble.

How dare anybody take issue for a player who think he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.

At the end of the day, is there any proof of this? Or is this another video saga?

Everyone who wants to let this slide as "Dez being Dez" should remember that Zeke - a guy who has been pampered in every way since walking in the door here - is now seeing first hand that MRI's and team meetings are optional for him.

You can argue he has fell off due to injuries since the contract but he was the best redzone threat in the NFL before last season. Touchdowns=dominant.

As for this situation. It is unacceptable and I am starting to think the team should at least start listening if teams inquire about him in the off season. Regardless, I hope he publicly apologizes or explains himself.

Nobody's going to sign up for this. Even if the team could afford to trade away the contract, which they can't. Nope. We've got this issue all to ourselves.

I like Dez and I'm always one of the first to defend him but that's ridiculous. It is starting to get very tiring. I love what I've heard from Dak. He's basically saying he'll throw to whoever's open and it doesn't matter who likes it or doesn't. I love it. So this is your chance Butler and Lucky too. Go do something. Sounds good anyway

That is some of the damage that it does.

What 'proof' do you require for you to believe it happened? I mean what are you willing to tell yourself in an effort to convince yourself that it didn't?

Was the MRI machine broke instead?

When Garrett or the Jones boys don't refute the report and threaten to sue the responsible parties, will that be enough for you?

Never know. Brandon Marshall has been known to be a jerk and someone always wants him when the team he is on is sick of him.

As long as his problems aren't drugs or DV, someone may be interested in giving it a shot.

Between, issues, injuries, and $70 million, there's no way.

Well this is disappointing.

Given the jerry interview Tuesday this kind of feels like he answers to Jerry and is one of those guys. I thought he wasn't with the way he talked about Garrett in the past.

Bummer.

and now our nice peaceful football season will be upended by the local media and nationally with nonsense about this 24/7.

Not sure I can take another season of this type of thing. This is supposed to be enjoyable, I enjoy the game and the team and even the losses are enjoyable to an extent, but this type of stuff and the reaction and fall out of just makes me want to not give a damn.

I hope we are not 2-4 on October 30th when Dez and Romo return. there will be no room for errors with tough games against philly, Minnesota, New York and Baltimore coming up.

I love that comment from Prescott. He is a mature beyond his years professional.
