Absolutely. The club can find decent WR's later in the draft or FA. It is the most overrated position in Football.
It has to be scouted well. Our track record over the years with that is not great once the second or third day hits. Don't want to get another Devin Street.

Man bryan broaddus is killing Garrett over this stuff this morning.

I happen to agree with him about telling the SF media. Seemed like a really really crappy thing to do and spiteful.

If I was a writer here like Archer or Moore who have always been fair to him I would be miserable and call him on everything going forward.

Telling the SF media was really a shockingly ridiculous move.

Also, He said he believes Dez meant no malice by this but was scared about being told he was done.....He was scared of being injured and because of it he put the coach and the team in a bad spot.

It definitely was peculiar that Garrett breaks the Dez news to the other team's media pool.

What he is telling the SF Media?

Garrett refused to answer any questions about Dez mon and wed with all the media here locally who's lively hood depends on having these stories. They are with the team everyday everywhere and Jason Garrett turned around and told the SF Media two hours later that Dez had a hair line fracture.

It was pretty much BS

That's really more about his freakish talent. There's no denying that but is he the right kind of guy to invest in? Not yet anyway. Sure looked like it in 2014 though.
No. The Cowboys should have franchised him when they had the chance. Bryant, to me, at this point in time, as an investment is entering the "declining returns" phase of his career.

I, for one, never believed that anything Bryant does is with malice.

I just think he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and doesn't think things through and the ramifications his decisions have. He basically acts like in the end, nothing will ever come back to bite him so he does what he wants and thinks he can fix it or get out of it later.

Nope. He had enough history that I would have franchised him. It wasnt like Dez could afford not to play with the tag.

Garrett chooses his public words carefully. This seems like a message to local media.

Perhaps there's a leak, or something confrontational recently, that has him bothered. Perhaps he decided to "leak" it first to the San Francisco media.

I am in the extreme minority here but this does not bother me one bit.
The guy was seriously injured and played through it.

He knew he wasn't close to right and needed 48 hours to gather himself mentally before undergoing an MRI which might have ended his season again.
I don't think he plays this week and I don't think his 48 hour hiatus matters one bit in whether or not he does since he is too sore to practice.

But I also don't think you need to treat NFL players like they are part of an infantry unit.

Dez is a high-priced insanely rarely talented worker and you handle those guys differently.

I was thinking we need to look for a nice #2 in this upcoming draft.

We might actually need to look for a legit #1 in this draft now.

Yep. I want multiple WRs in the offseason. It can be done while addressing other needs.

Dude. Stop.

The team fined him. So obviously they aren't buying the lame excuse that he needed 48 hours to get mentally ready to undergo a MRI.

Prepare yourself for......... T Will being resigned and sold as the answer at WR.

Actually a guy I had my eye on as possibly a reclamation project was Nelson Agholor in Philly. In camp they were talking he was so out of whack that he could be a casualty by year end. But Sir-Wentz-A lot has made him productive so I doubt he's going anywhere.

And we know the Jones' will likely hit the bargain bin again in FA so it's not like we would address DE or CB in FA.
And he will spin it that these bargain bin guys are " gems", and peeps will eat it up. The typical, fast twitch guy that was used in the wrong system and the Cowboys coaches will coach him up and he will become a big time player.

Jason Garrett just confirmed that Dez was worried that it was a much worse injury than it was and that Is why dez missed Two meetings and treatment.

so garrett was covering up for Bryant so much for his speech about accountability not a lot left to be said about the head coach this was a bad decision on his part
