Sounds like an excuse I'd give when she asks for a 2nd date.

We all thought after a couple years this crap would pass and he would grow up. He'll be 28 years old in 2 months and we're still having to deal with this crap. This doesn't happen with any other player on the team but him.

That's where you and whoever "we" are went wrong. He was and still is an immature man-child. Why would you assume he would grow up? He just got paid $90 million or whatever it was so he doesn't have to grow up like regular people do. This is what you get with Dez. Maybe one day when he can see the end of his career is near, he will mature enough for these incidents to be a thing of the past.

Not for injured players.
Not for injured players who have to come to the facility for treatment. Reason being these guys didn't play Sunday so they don't need Monday off to rest.
Also there is no treatment the training staff can perform on a fractured bone.

He wasn't AWOL for days. He was off Monday and didn't contact them when they wanted him to get an MRI. Then we was late to work Tuesday.

Why is Dez even talking? He does not owe the media ONE MORE WORD on the issue. The media does not care about him. They care about a story. And with Hardy, RoMac, Gregory not around....their tank is getting low. So they are TRYING to get a report on how he spent every minute after the game on Sunday. Something they are NOT entitled to. We already KNOW....he missed 3 days....the team spoke to him and fined him...he admitted he handled it poorly. END OF STORY!!!!!!!!!!!

So... let me get this clear. If ANY player other than Dez Bryant misses a meeting or doesn´t attend MRI they will get fined by the organization.
Dez Bryant misses a meeting and misses the MRI and he gets fine.

Could you please tell the how "the rules only apply to them"?

He was gone for three days and didn't answer his phone. Keep making those excuses.

As I stated, the media has suggested that he spent that time hanging out with Jay-Z and 50-cent. We'll see if anything surfaces about that.

If you saw Jason yesterday during the presser, he was really, really pissed. You could tell.

Imagine if Tony Romo did this.

I can't.

Per the coach JG:

"Dez Bryant missed an MRI and a treatment on Monday. He missed a team meeting on Tuesday, and he was not at a meeting Wednesday" - Garrett

He was suppose to be there Monday, he was suppose to be there Tuesday and he missed a meeting Wednesday.

He was 21 when we drafted him and we all assumed he would eventually mature but he hasn't. We thought "one day" with him a long time ago and I don't see that day ever coming. The more his production declines and the more the injuries pile up, the more problems we'll have with him.

I can sorta, kinda relate in a roundabout way to Dez's angst over his injury. Several years back, I avoided going to the hospital out of fear and anxiety that a condition I had would lead to something really bad. I avoided dealing with it out of mostly fear, I guess. As it turned out, my son talked me into going into emergency, whereupon I ended up coming within only hours of losing my life, according to the doctors. They operated and now all is fine, years later.

As fanatic as Dez is about his career with the Cowboys, I'm sure he saw a possibility of his career possibly being in jeopardy and didn't want to deal with it, even if it was a definite longshot. Football means his life to him and the thought of losing it, even for a short while, is probably fairly unthinkable to him.

Anyhow, I was relieved to hear it's something that won't end his season, much less his career. I'm certain he was as well. Not wanting to deal with the problem was simply his way of copping out, I think. I know how that can happen.

so he went AWOL because he wants to be out on the field and fears the bad news of testing and would rather play injured than not at all...why is this an issue again?

So Dez is a lighting rod through no fault of him one?

He does things that get attention, but it's amplified in his case for whatever reason. When things like baggy pants in malls and disputes over necklaces or videos which later appear never to have existed become fairly significant stories, something a bit out of the ordinary is going on.

Honestly, he's so much like Irvin, I think it's a storyline that almost wrote itself when he came to Dallas. But even before he was drafted his issues were larger than life.

He missed his scheduled MRI and treatment on Monday. He missed team activities and meetings on Tuesday. He missed other meetings Wednesday.

Then he comes out and says it was because he was scared and apparently his employer couldn't even get ahold of him an entire day because he left his phone off.

That's kind of more than nothing if you ask me. The main problem I have with that is you missed half a week when the rest of your teammates and coaches are putting in the normal work. It's disrespectful to the guys who are going out there fighting along side you each week and as a veteran, and one of the best players in the team..it's unacceptable.

It might have been nothing if this was still his first year..but at some point you have to grow up. Niw, it's not the end of the world as some of the Dallas beat writers would want you to think, but it sure doesn't foster the right attitude in the locker room.

Dez is not going to change. These minor miscommunications and emotional outbursts are going to follow him his entire professional career. He's not a dude who's afraid of working very hard under normal circumstances. I don't think for a minute a single person on the team has an issue with the volume of hard work Dez puts in, either.

He does things that get attention? So this is just because he is Dez and has nothing to do with him doing things he should not.
