I see it this way. Right now, Zak has the hot hand and sure seems to be the future, however, I wonder just how much of the offense Dak really knows at this point in time while I think we can agree that Romo knows the whole offense and has tons more experience reading defenses.

However, Romo does not have the athletic ability in this stage of his life compared to Dak's. It's a good problem to have right now, but football is a young mans game and Romo is not young anymore, however, with age comes experience that Dak does not have right now.

Now, if Tyron and Collins were in the game when Romo is ready I say use Romo until he goes down, which is likely to happen, but if those two players are not in the game then use Dak's ability to scramble away from pressure, or at least if he can't escape pressure, the chances of him getting hurt are a lot less than Romo.

Saying all that, I really think that at this point in time, let Dak either sink or swim, and if he starts to sink, then let Romo take over. However, I doubt that the organization is going to let Romo sit while they are paying him all the coin.

Dak = Young, dumb and full of (well, you fill in the rest) lol

Romo = Old, broken and full of knowledge.

Flip a coin.

does Romo dress for the Green Bay game and if things get out of hand quick take over for Dak?

He won't be ready by the Green Bay game and if that game got out of hand he wouldn't be able to save it, not having played all season. It will be almost a year since he played a regular season game by then. The worst situation to bring Romo in, is in a game where we're down by 2 or more scores and him having to air it out against a defense that would be pinning their ears back coming after him.

If Dak continues to improve and play at a high level, it needs to be Dak's team.

The next leap of Dak going from a dink and dunk QB to a big time play making QB won't be happening in two weeks. Nothing Dak is doing right now Romo couldn't do.

Uh, I don't think Romo can run it in for some TD's or escape pressure like he used to do when he was younger. Other than that, I'm sure that Dak cannot do some of the things that Romo can do regarding the overall knowledge of the game.

Perhaps, but if the quality of play is likely to be relatively equal, I'd rather not stop the progress of the future (should be current) franchise QB.

Dak hardly scrambles. He has 12 rushing attempts on the year for 57 yards. Yeah okay, Romo wouldn't have that one 5 yard run for a TD. But Romo is also a better red zone passer, so it cancels it out.

Also, it's not like Dak has been escaping pressure all that often. Everything Dak is doing right now, while good for a rookie, will not be lost once Romo gets it. If anything, I simply think the players we have on offense are just getting better. Beasley has taken the next step. For all the criticism Williams has gotten for his flubs, he's also finding ways to get open. The O-line pass protection has been great, despite losing two of our starters.

I believe our offense just has a lot of talent right now and the playcalling has been fantastic. About the only playcalling I see us losing with Romo back in is some of the rollouts. We won't be missing much once Dak gets benched for Romo.

Let's say things finally start going wrong for Dak on Sunday against Cinn and it carries over to the Packers game. I'm sure the thought will be by many to get Romo ready during the bye week for Philly. I can't imagine the Cowboys would bring Romo back for his first regular season action in almost a year against a Philly defense that's already put up 10 sacks the first 3 weeks.

That could end up being a repeat of the Carolina game. If the scenario happens that the magic does start to wear off with Dak this Sunday and his game starts to falter, I believe the Cowboys will stay with him through the Philly game and start Romo against Cleveland. If you're going to bring a rusty Romo back, you want to get his feet wet against a crap team like Cleveland where he might not have to do a lot.

Well, it will be fun to see what happens, because this is a good position to be in for a Cowboy fan.

Where is romo right now? Where was Romo last year?

Time to wake up.

Yup, time to smell the roses. The future is here right now and looks better than Romo. The fans and media will go crazy if the Cowboys put in Romo. I can see it now... Romo comes back and is "rusty".. the fans will be chatting....."Bring Dak Back" ....."Bring Dak Back". We for sure have a QB controversy on our hands.

Wow, this poll just shows that there are 25% of the people on here who have no clue about how good Romo really is. I think they need a reality check

Actually, only 25% that know their stuff. This is how it works in the real world too.

This forum just goes to show that even if you disagree with someone for years, eventually as Cowboys fans we come together. Looks like we are finally on the same page. Dak gives us the best chance to win. Romo was very good for many years but only led us to 2 playoff wins in a decade. That is brutal. It's time for Dak to shine, no need to go backwards. Come on 4th win in a row...

And if Dak looks mediocre in the next two games, then what?

Unless I'm reading this tweet wrong, it sounds like Romo is making good progress in his rehab. Also sums up my view on the Dak/Romo debate for this year. Right now, Dak can't make the throws Romo has been able to make his entire career. That will be the difference between W/L against elite competition. With Dallas's defense you need Romo's play making ability that we saw in 2014. That is why I go back to him.

Obviously, if that is not there, or he gets hurt, then its Dak for good.

I voted for Romo.

That said, if this team continues to roll with Dak and go, say 6-1...7-1 under Dak, I think Romo should be on a short leash; give him 2-3 games to see how he does. He should be able to hit the ground running, but if he doesn't, well...

Probably a roundabout way of referring to throws that travel greater than 7 yards in the air...
