What if the Coaches want to stick with Dak

When it comes to his most expensive franchise player, you bet he does.
I can see why many of you think that is the case.
But I think if Garrett fought to have a certain player start--regardless of who it is--Jerry would allow it. If he felt that strongly about it (which in Dak's case I highly doubt that he does) the he could get his way.
Again, I accept you guys calling me naïve on this one.
I get it. I just disagree.

Lets say Garrett, Linehan and some team members want to keep rolling with Dak, but Jerry and Stephen want Romo to take over in a couple weeks. How does that play out?

Romo plays.

Drops ... the ... mic.

I think the above picture about summarizes who will control the decision making on this one.

Remember the quote after the game in which the above happened:

"He doesn’t need to be making that one (decision) by himself."

He was better. Nobody knows what he's like now.

It doesn't really matter until it does. Witten and Garrett want Romo back. Garrett has said as much and details that
as soon as they feel Romo is ready he will resume his lead QB position. The OL love Romo and will play for him. Dez loves
Romo and will catch for him. Linehan may want Dak (maybe but not known for sure) though he will not buck the HC or Management.
I see Romo getting his start and if he can keep the job so be it. If he stinks up the joint like the Carolina game last year then, all bets
are off and Dak will assume the future is here now.

Then there will be a whole lot of crying and whining on here. LOL

I for one, would like nothing more than to listen to Romo apologists talk about how Romo would be 16-0 if he played.

Not sure. If you saw the injury graphic from the game yesterday, it was pretty much the two broken collar bones prior to this current injury. The rest of his issues are overblown. I don't really think he's at much elevated risk of injury over any other player his age at his position, honestly. I know everybody thinks his spine is made of styrofoam at this point, but that's not really anything I lose sleep over.

What I do wonder, though, is how much the time off is going to affect him. He's missed a lot of game time at this point, his skill players are all used to a different signal caller, it's not going to be the seamless. I also wonder how he reacts to the competition from a younger player for the first time.

My best guess is that he rises to the challenge competition wise, after 2-3 games where he's fairly rusty but still playing well. We're going to need the best Tony Romo can give us for games like the MIN and PIT games coming up. Everything else is a game I think Dak gives us every bit as much of a chance to win as Tony does. If I"m coach, though, I'm tempted to sit him through the PHI game, though, if we win in GB. CLE is a good game to get back up to speed with. Taking a 5-1 team and putting Tony in after the bye against the Eagles and having him struggle for a week would start everybody howling, and maybe rightly so. Getting Tony up to speed v. a weaker opponent and playing to his usual level not long after that and I don't see how anybody seriously complains about the decision.

Keeping talking smack about Dak, I love it. As you whine and cry about your hero Romo, Dak continues to go out and embarrass you again and again. Is he leading the NFL in passer rating yet? LOL

Maybe you and EROD can come up with your own drawn out, 5 page thesis paper on how you miss your hero Romo and how Romo would be 5-0 right now.

One would think that you'd read the posts you respond to, but it's not always a safe assumption is it? I've got nothing but love for Dak. He's a godsend as far as I'm concerned, and I've never suggested otherwise. And I was on that train early. I'm not responsible for the fact that you apparently can't get your head around the idea that we happen to have two very good QBs on the roster right now.

Perhaps you should focus more on just enjoying the winning streak instead of doing what you usually do (to your own embarrassment) in every thread you post in?

LOL......dont you find it rather ironic that you are telling me to enjoy the winning when all you can talk about is how your hero Romo would be 5-0 right now? Im enjoying this Dak run more than anyone. Seeing as how I have been telling people like you what the future was going to look like after the first preseason game.

In fact.........I would much rather you keep dissing Dak and continue crying for Romo. Seeing as though whatever you say the opposite consistently happens.

I would be much more concerned if you were talking about how Dak was going to be 6-14 before the break.

Meh. We're done engaging on this topic, too, now. If you can't be bothered to read what I've said in the threads I've posted in re: Tony and Dak, I'm certainly not going to be bothered to respond to an imaginary argument I've never made. Especially when it comes from a poster who's a net-negative to the discussion in pretty much every thread he expresses an opinion in.

Jerry will get his way. Always has and always will

Yeah, it's kind of a weird questions to begin with, right? I mean, if Jerry's not dug-in it's one thing, but the question of who his franchise QB is is hardly the kind of thing an owner like Jerry Jones does not dig in on.

Romo apologists? What would we be apologizing for? Newsflash: Romo has been really good when healthy, MVP-level stuff. What are you talking about?

Net negative? LOL

Don't ever compare yourself to me as a poster. Say what you want about my writing style, I am near dead on when it comes to the Cowboys. You don't hold a candle to me as a fan of the boys or as an accurate predictor or analyzer of football.

Are you denying saying that Romo would be 5-0? Or that you insinuated that we lost the Giants game because of Dak? Should I pull it up for you and jog your selective memory?

When it comes to his most expensive franchise player, you bet he does.

Romo did not become the most expensive player by accident. He got there because of performance. So you could just as easily say "when it comes to his highest performing player..." But hey, let's focus on his salary, it fits whatever F'ed up agenda some of you have come up with today.

He loves Tony which is why even if we only have 1 loss initially I think he will go back with #9.

8-8, 8-8, 8-8 I seem to recall before his great 12-4 campaign. Then of course he has been hurt the last two years.

But what are you apologizing for? For him being hurt all the time the last two years. Apologizing for his "freak" injuries. Apologizing for his old and brittle nature. Apologizing that he would be 5-0 right now if he was playing.

Come on man, read what Idgit is posting. He's not dissing Dak at all. And what gives you the right to question someone's fandom of the Cowboys? Get over yourself, you sound like a child.

If you think those 8-8 teams would have won any more than 3 or 4 games without Romo, you're clueless. I mean, embarrassingly clueless.

I think the better question is what if they don't? You going to be able to handle it?
This sums up my greatest concern because I don't know if the site's servers have enough capacity to withstand the emotional backlash. I'm serious. I believe some fans' coping skills will be taxed to the max. And I'm being strictly literal.
