How good is Zeke?

Remember when he fumbled twice against the Commanders, and Jalen Ramsey should have been picked?

What would Dallas' record be with Jalen Ramsey right now?

We'd be lucky to be 3-3. I think DP could win some games if EE wasn't taken. Together they are dynamic however.

When you consider his pass protection and how he maximizes plays, I don't we can truly appreciate how important Zeke has been to Dak's success.

Best RB in football right now IMO. He has every skill you can ask for, except Emmitt level durability - which will only show over time.

i would agree with this.
If Emmitt has anyone to worry about it catching his record, it might be Zeke. Zeke has the speed that Emmitt never did and he's running behind a similarly nasty Oline opening up holes. Emmitt (probably my all time favorite player) got caught from behind a lot. Zeke will never get caught from behind, those 40 yard runs Emmitt had will be 60 or 70 for Zeke and end in TDs. He's everything I thought he'd be for us....other teams should be terrified.
mark it down in 3 inch headlines, Prescott and Elliott will bring a Lombardi to Dallas......maybe several
great to see the birth of a new era...like watching Emmitt, Troy, and Irving coming of age early on.....
gonna be beautiful, get your popcorn and size your ring fingers

OK...we get it. Your enthused!

Now plant each foot back on terrestrial soil. You can still enjoy yourself but do so in a grounded fashion.

In ten or twelve years--if in the extremely unlikely scenario that Zeke is still in the league-- Emmitt can maybe afford to think that maybe his record might get broken. Unlikely, but maybe.

In addition to being epic good, Emmitt had utterly obscene longevity and a knack of playing through many injuries while avoiding others. Backs just don't last that long. They don't endure.

I kept trying to tell people how Peterson was going to hit the wall. Nobody believed it. He's not so special anymore, folks. He was superman. The most gifted back of the past generation. One of the most physically gifted runners ever. And Adrian is going to fall 6,000 yards short.

Let's enjoy Zeke and see if he can make the all-pro team. It sure looks promising. Anything beyond that in terms of historical comparisons, hall-of-fame talk... is so much empty hype and vanity.

I agree in that Emmitt record is not something that should even be looked at, at this stage. Right now I just enjoy watching Zeke just as I did Emmitt when Emmitt was a rookie. I was not even thinking about Walter Peyton's record all I was thinking about is what Emmitt was bringing to this team and how much better we were with him in our lineup than we were before he got here. Same hold true for me with Zeke. I want to see him accomplish many individual feats but more important I want to see him help this team win and achieve the goal of winning a championship.

Zeke is a beast and I'm so glad we drafted him. The combo of this line and an elite RB is what makes this team special.

It's hard to say who the best RB in the league is right now. It's definitely these guys, and you can probably make a good argument to put them in any order:

Zeke
LeVeon Bell
David Johnson
Lesean McCoy
Todd Gurley (not his fault he gets hit by 3 defenders as soon as he touches the ball)

Gun to my head, I'd go:

1. LeVeon Bell
2. Zeke
3. Lesean McCoy
4. Todd Gurley
5. David Johnson
6. Demarco Murray
7. Lamar Miller
8. Eddie Lacy
9. Doug Martin
10. Mark Ingram

I disagree. Despite not having elite speed Emmitt surprisingly hit a lot of home run runs not getting caught. Who remembers his rookie year I believe where he broke away from legendary speedster Darryl Green? To be fair he kinda cleverly eluded him at the end of a very long run. Emmitt would definitely juke you moreso but I love Zeke's style as wel..

As physical as Zeke is, not sure he'll last long enough to catch Emmitt. It's going to take a lot of productive seasons to catch him. Maybe Zeke will be able to survive all the punishment he dishes out and manage to stay around long enough. It's going to be fun watching.

Because Emmitt is regularly rated as the 4th or 5th best RB by most lists, I hold firm to the belief that he is the most underrated RB of all time.

The notion that the o-line was what made him so special has unfairly hurt the perception of how great he was. Of course, it's not held against Jerry Rice that he has two Hall of Fame QBs throwing to him in a pioneering offense. Such crap.

I feel bad for every other RB we ran out there during Emmitt's prime, since the OL clearly didn't like those guys and didn't block as well for them.

5-1, I'm guessing.

Not that Zeke isn't great, but Morris is adequate, and our last 3 games haven't been particularly close. Washington was closer, but Zeke fumbled twice in that one, so we certainly didn't win because of him.

I don't see it. I think our passing game would suffer if we didn't have Zeke. Teams sell out to stop him and it opens things up tremendously. I don't think they'd be as concerned with Morris and our offense would take a serious step back with him in there, even though he's a quality RB.

If this keeps up, we could end up with 7 Pro Bowlers on offense.

Off the OP's theme, but...

Martin, Zak, Dike, Frederick. Those are looking legit for pro bowl.

Witten will get consideration because of his rep. Maybe he's earned it this year, I dunno. Smith has been hampered with injury. Were you thinking Dez? most emphatically not in consideration. What does he have...11 catches on 25 attempts?

So a non-homer perspective is 4 or 5 candidates.

So which game(s) do we lose? San Francisco is the only one I might concede.

Not sure, but I think it changes the entire complexion of the offense. I think the fakes don't work nearly as well and I don't think we are able to dictate to defenses. So every game would be entirely different IMO. I think every thing would tighten up considerably, and we'd be relying on Dak to bail us out in the end.
