Jerry: Tony Romo will return at some point near the end of the year at the latest

The team has always held all of the cards on Romo's injury. They never actually released a timeline for his recovery and they barely even confirmed what the injury was. On SNF they said that Tony himself said something about doctors not being sure he was ready to take a hit. We all hoped that he could recover quick but maybe it just wasn't something that was going to be that easy. I think the only thing that we know for certain is that no one handles a situation worse than Jerry.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember Bledsoe was much more of a laser thrower and downfield threat but Brady came in and managed games really well and minimized mistakes to keep more consistency and winning so they stuck with him.

different situations altogether though. The patriots won on defense. that was an outstanding defensive team. They just wanted him to not screw up and the defense would win. Here the offense needs to win and we saw sunday night what happens when a good defense takes away the run.

To your other point though, yes Bledsoe had an incredible arm. I saw him in 95 at buffalo in freezing rain throw a ball off his back foot about 60 yards to terry glenn. It was ridiculous.

I don't fear change. He is a much better player and this team has the ability to take it to the house. The decision has been made. He is not the starter anymore and will only play if the wheels come off the season. basically hey you sit over there we got it covered but if our decision goes down the toilet we will need you to fix everything for us ok..thanks,

thats where we are at. I think the giants are about to go on a 4 game winning streak and we will be in a different position in the east soon. We will need better play to win this division and Romo is the better player. Again all my opinion and its worth as little as anyone else's. Its all whining also from me at this point because its over. the decision has been made.

It's not about Romo, it's about the team. The team is winning and the chemistry has never been better.

Romo probably doesn't change that chemistry, but it's a team sport and you stick with what's working for the team. I like Romo, but I like the Cowboys more.

Tony Romo has been an unbelievable gift to this team, but the best course is to let him get 100% healthy and trade him in the offseason.

He has made it known repeatedly they he will not play anywhere else. He just built a mansion. He will get released and then probably retire.

You like the cowboys more? Does this mean that those of us who think Romo is the better player like the cowboys less? The statement makes no sense.

Romo is not going to in anyway screw up the chemistry that is national reporters phony argument because it is a simpleton angle.

If his back is healed at this point, which it should be, given that he is putting stress and torque on it by throwing the football with velocity, he now needs to hit the weight room. It'll take him 3 to 4 more weeks to make up the loss of muscle mass needed to survive the pounding in this league. He did not have the luxury of waiting that long last year, which is probably why he got hurt again. That'll take him to about week 12. He'll be a great insurance policy down the stretch. Hoping for the best, he deserves to be part of this somehow.

I agree. And that's why I have to wonder if everyone is on the same page regarding his ability to play. Are all parties in agreement here, or do he and the team have differing opinions on things?
I think they are. I think people overreact too much to what the Jones' men say and not pay attention to what the team is actually doing. I've been reading that Romo's been throwing since about the 5-week mark after his injury. He's been practicing with all his old WRs in the background. But with the back, he probably couldn't lift. So this really is about strength training, IMO.

I don't think what Jerry said is an indicator of anything other than they can be patient with Romo's health. I don't think we'll see a changing of the guard or even the notion of one until the offseason. People should just sit back and just enjoy the season for what it is. A nice, unexpected surprise.

Bledsoe was also the guy that won them the conference championship to get them to the super bowl that year. That's forgotten sometimes.

I somewhat felt if the team was winning with Dak, we shouldn't bring back Romo until the Thanksgiving game. The reason being, he hasn't played well past few seasons on a short week due to his back.

Just the fact that there will be a short leash on Romo going forward, I felt he'd have a bad game had he played on Thanksgiving after playing the game on Sunday. That may get him benched and I don't think that would be a fair reason for him to get yanked.

When I say, "I", I mean "I". I'm not making your mind up for you or insulting your opinion, don't be so defensive.

Here is the entirety of what Jerry Jones had to say about #Romo today with @1053SS, @rjchoppy, and @MacEngelProf:

It will be good to have Tony ready in case Dak got hurt or just hits a wall. He can also help mentor Dak. Who knows what will happen? It could be Romo holding up that trophy when all is said and done. They have to stick with Dak for now if they are serious about winning.

I don't like this.I think Romo is healthy but they want to ride the hot hand.the problem is Dak is either hitting the rookie wall or regressing with bad recurring fundamentals.

Yes that's true and often a forgotten part. Brady actually has pretty mediocre during those first few superbowls. He got better with age.

I like the attitude about things. Rather than stressing about one or the other, we should just enjoy the fact that we're winning.

We've always rushed tony back because we've never had a shot at winning with backups we had. Now we have the luxury of tony sitting until completely healthy. It's hard to determine anything that goes on outside of the star. Tony has been a blessing and I'm an advocate for tony for years but I care more about winning. Whoever is starting and we keep winning I'm ecstatic. We are number 1 in the NFC. And how the Vikings look we could have home field.
