Maybe the soft part of society is the one who wants to let everyone off with a slap on the wrist when they choose to do or say something really stupid.

Don't get me wrong I think it's pretty rough that they went that hard at him but oh well. If you are going to open your mouth and say something stupid then be prepared for the consequences of saying something that stupid.

Zeke should protest and form a anti-bounty group.

Sean Payton and Gregg Williams got a year ban from the NFL for bounty gate

Baldinger gets a 6 month suspension for suggesting a bounty. I'd say the punishment fits the crime perfectly

He could've probably said all of those things about taking a guy out and hurting him and been fine, but when he dropped the bounty suggestion he dug his own grave

It's enjoyable to witness Philthy fan pain, and Baldy deserves some sort of punishment, but this is extreme IMO. He was just feeding the Philthy fans some red meat.

Totally disagree. What he said crossed the line and was irresponsible.

The league has made it a priority to protect players and now you got a commentator on your own network talking about bounties for hurting a player.

It also sends a terrible message to kids watching.

So he deserves to be suspended without pay for 6 months for a stupid comment?

Daaaaaang.

I think that is absolutely ridiculous to suspend the guy from his job for that long. He didn't say anything that bad.

Maybe it wasnt "that bad" but at some point the media needs to be held responsible for thier opinions and comments. It was not professional in any manner and furthermore it was without class entirely. Glad to see him gone.

So a commentator who has nothing to do with the team strategy deserves to be suspended 6 months for just suggesting a bounty when actual coaches who had actual bounties only got suspended a year?

Come on.

Sure but the punishment doesn't fit the crime..

Just more proof of how soft our society is.
6 months is very heavy. That said, they probably suspended him for poor judgment more than for what he actually said. The bounty comments were simply stupid coming from someone in his position (working on NFLN). All that said, an on-the-air apology should have sufficed.

Well, yes absolutely. As an NFL Network commentator you are an ambassador for the company you work for, so if you go on an unaffiliated radio station and make unprofessional and, frankly, dumb comments like that, you are not beyond reprieve.

I think it's ridiculous and just another example of the punishment not fitting the crime for the NFL.

He didn't say anything worth not earning a paycheck for half a year.

Josh Brown suspended one game for abusing his wife and step son.

Brian baldinger.....we dont tolerate you doing characters on local radio....six months no pay.

if Brian Baldinger is severely financially damaged for not receiving a paycheck for 6 months, he has more prominent issues than his irresponsible comments and subsequent suspension

it's hilarious that some of you actually have sympathy for this clown

whether he was "in character" or speaking from his own opinion is irrelevant

6 months! Wow!

He's basically gone for the entire football season. I'm willing to bet that's the end of his career on NFL Network.

Agreed...they will see over the next six months that no one misses him and then he will just be let go. Hope it was worth it for him.
