Unfortunately once you become addicted it is hard to break the habit. He has placed himself above the team on multiple occasions now. Time to wish him good luck and let him walk.

It's not Rappaport only reporting that. Isn't there another reporter claiming it as well?

When he admits that the NFL says they have not received a new report, it calls the report into question.

This is horrible if true. Somebody pinch me. I was full-bore in his corner. Hoping we would get him back for our postseason push.

Unbelievable. DE is a number one priority in draft and perhaps in free agency as well (not a tier one, but a tier 2 signing). It can't just be Tank on the outside.

Damnit, Gregory. Damnit, dude. If this is over weed, this is sickening that weed can destroy a player's career in the 21st century. Weed, folks.

You "get off muh lawn" folks need to realize, marijuana will be federally legal soon. We're losing a player to some weed. In two or three, maybe four years (our next general election) this guy wouldn't be drawing these suspensions.

Sorry, it doesn't matter if weed will be federally legal. It is still outlawed by the league and illegal on the federal level now and Gregory cannot obey the law or the league rules. He has a problem and it is one that it looks like will ruin his career.

Alcohol is not illegal, but many people have allowed it to ruin their lives. It's sad that the promise Gregory shows is being destroyed by his choices. Don't blame it on the drug or the policies; the man is to blame.

I was under the impression that weed was not addictive. I mean, that's what everyone says, right?

I don't think we are looking at a case of just marijuana. Marijuana is legalized in a growing number of states and winked at virtually everywhere.

It's most likely harder drugs that are in play here... but for PR purposes described as a case of weed.

I can't prove it...but think about it.

Further, I am sure a lot of NFL players smoke weed. Never doubted it.

Most aren't dumb enough to fail 5 tests though like Gregory.

I've ignored responding to these "Weed is Great and Harmless" posts all this time but it's getting on my nerves.

Weed is not harmless. My sister started with weed and got into much worse later on as a result. So kudos to you and others who kept it strictly to weed, but to others it is a gateway drug to much worse. Not cool. The very fact that Gregory can't stop doing weed even though it is hurting his future is proof weed is anything but harmless.

It is also NOT a victimless crime as there are plenty of people who will steal in order to get money to get their happiness on. Again, I have personal experience with such.

I don't begrudge your happiness, however artificially induced. Just don't expect everyone to agree with you when you try and pump up a substance that has ruined lives.

Thank you. It seems as if everyone on the Internet never suffers the negative experience we so often see in real life regarding a whole assortment of addictions including marijuana.
It seems as if everyone on the Internet who smokes marijuana never takes another drug, is highly productive and can stop whenever they wish.

It's not heroine. There's no physical dependence.

Brainpaint I just keep thinking what we could have done with that second rounder then again we haven't been batting 1000 with 2nd rounders

We need good solid picks from now on at that spot.. Getting cute has yet to pay off for us.

Escobar, Bennett, Gregory, waiting on Jaylon, waiting forever on Bruce Carter... Its old.

We need contributors and not high upside long shots.

With all due respect to Gregory & anyone else addicted to a substance, it's not really the weed he's addicted to. It could have been anything -- heroin, sex, gambling, tanning, working out, Facebook, video games, whatever. He may have an addictive personality and so clung to the first thing he found that made him feel nice... in this case weed. We all know (or should anyway) that weed doesn't really have any super addictive qualities in itself, but then again neither does sex, love, gambling, etc. but people still get addicted to those things. It just so happens that weed is what gets the endorphins flowing in Gregory's head.

I'm not really sure what my point is, lol.... guess I'm just saying that with many (or most) folks who are addicted, deep down it's not a chemical problem that they have, it's a spiritual problem. At least that's what NA and AA tell us. :)

Some people are addicted, some people use it casually. Each person is different. Some use it for medical reasons.

LOL, oh boy.
Studies have shown, again and again, that weed is not a "gateway" drug. I started with tylenol, moved to caffeine, then alcohol, then weed - is tylenol my gateway drug?

Your anecdotal experience doesn't mean anything. There are multiple reasons your sister got into the things she got into - and it has little to do with weed. Why can SO many people stay with JUST weed? Your sister's problem wasn't/isn't weed, it's just a convenient scapegoat.

Have the Cliffs notes for this thread come out yet?
Has it been determined if this is real or fake news??
