News: Gregory Failed Yet another Drug Test

One of the biggest cons right now is that marijuana is harmless. It's mind boggling just how ignorant or willfully blind users are.

Read. Do research. Think.
Take your own advice. Cannabis is much safer than pain pills and its a natural substance. There are many ways to get the benefits without smoking. Everyone with a brain knows smoking anything is far from harmless. Trying to ban marijuana doesn't work. We know that.

He was full of hot air telling the team and the fans all the right things. He likes weed and does not really care about playing football. His decision. But it sucks we wasted a 2nd round pick on him. I hate taking chances on these guys and the ones with injury history. I have a feeling Chaz Green will have the same fate but for injuries instead of weed.

Should have been red flags from his days at Nebraska. To where the team pretty much stopped testing him because he failed so many times.

I guess in weird sort of way we can thank Gregory for standing in the way of us taking David Johnson with that pick at the end of round two.
Then we wouldn't have selected Zeke with the 4th overall pick this year..
Wait, I'm confused.

Wow! Love the story, but am kinda depressed now, Plankton :)

Would still take chance if top 10 pick fell to 2nd round or bottom of first. There have been enough successes for me to try to swing for fences. Gregory may be done, but Jerry will still take chances on blue chippers who fail tests at combine or come in with off field issues, and he should.

Dan Marino, Warren Sapp, Ray Lewis, Laremy Tunsil, etc.

I think after we cut him it will officially be the end of us taking risks on bad character guys.

The only character guy that has paid off for us has been Dez and everything with him was just immaturity.
Very true
Gregory had talent but lots of red flags. Got to do a better job of filtering some of these red flag guys. Dak had some red flags but to me they have to love the game and they can get past those issues. It appears Gregory either doesn't love the game as much as weed or has some issues like bi-polar or something
Hard to believe anyone is just so stupid without having something mental going on

I gave up on him after the last suspension, so this is not surprising at all.

Bye....when league permits.....never gave us anything to miss. Obviously, the guys before him with trouble and wasted opportunities didn't scare him to being clean. Get help.....but bye.

Addiction is a weird thing -- marijuana for most of us isn't terribly unbearable to give up, while for others it literally takes control of our lives. The psychological aspect of addictions can be devastatingly difficult to conquer for those poor souls who lean on it to make their lives bearable. Obviously, Randy Gregory falls into that category. I'm really at a loss for knowing exactly how to respond for the benefit of all concerned. I had high hopes that Randy would respond positively to the treatments he received but it appears to be a hopeless situation, at least for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't be surprised if the team will feel it has no choice other than to cut ties with this guy. It's just a sad day for us all.

This is horrible if true. Somebody pinch me. I was full-bore in his corner. Hoping we would get him back for our postseason push.

Unbelievable. DE is a number one priority in draft and perhaps in free agency as well (not a tier one, but a tier 2 signing). It can't just be Tank on the outside.

Damnit, Gregory. Damnit, dude. If this is over weed, this is sickening that weed can destroy a player's career in the 21st century. Weed, folks.

You "get off muh lawn" folks need to realize, marijuana will be federally legal soon. We're losing a player to some weed. In two or three, maybe four years (our next general election) this guy wouldn't be drawing these suspensions.
Oh just shut the hell up with the freaking excuses. The guy is a pothead. A stoner. He's worthless to the team. Get rid of him today!

What if weed is the only thing that helps him keep his bi-polar condition manageable? Maybe he doesn't want to, because he knows whats on the line, but maybe he can't fight his brain 24/7 and gives in at time?
