Patriots fans nervous about Romo's landing spot

Because out of respect for Tony, I would sure as heck hope they'd give him the option of being traded to his choice of available options. Two, it's ok to hope Tony has a shot at a ring on another team.
I understand giving romo a choice on a few teams now. However to hope he gets a shot at another ring not involved with dallas, no way. Dallas gets the trophy or nothing for me.

With Wade commanding the defense in Denver and the ability to create TOs and Romo lighting it up on offense, Denver automatically shoots up to contender number 1..
And their odds of winning a championship automatically go up ten fold. With the luck of our fan base, it would be the first time in decades that we actually reach the Super Bowl and the two guys we jettisoned for "the better of the team" (Ware and Romo) go on to whip our *****.

That's a very scary thought. I don't like it.

I think if he leaves next season (And I believe he's likely to do so) that it will be to Denver.

John Elway will bank on another older, experienced, quality QB getting them another Superbowl ring while they find out if Lynch is their future or if they need to go back to the drawing board and draft another guy.

That's actually a great call.

Denver has much better surrounding pieces than a team like Jets.

If Romo wants to sniff a SB, he'd better stay with the Cowboys. There's not a better team in the league that's set up to win a SB in the next few years. The rest are just stat padders the way AZ was for Emmitt. He may not be the starter here, but this is his best shot.....

The Broncos would be a much better option and as a starter rather than backup

I'd ask for a #1 pick, nothing less. I'd let that go as long as possible until I can't hold out anymore, than I'd try 2 and so on.

Denver and the Jets are the teams that everyone seems to be talking about in this scenario. The team that really makes a lot of sense to me is Kansas City. The cap hit isn't horrible if they move on from Alex Smith. The walrus knows and respects Tony a lot. The defense is exceptional and Tony would be an ideal fit for the offense there.

What could we get for him, or is there already a thread about that?

That's been asked, and the responses are all over the board, as they should be. Given the current state of the league, and Romo's salary and injury history, its nearly impossible to say. Give a guess and yours is as good as any.

Between now and the offseason, a 'perfect storm' scenario could emerge like the Eagles had with the Vikings. If that happens, his value could be very high. Teams could also shy away and wait for Dallas to be forced to cut him. It's all speculation at this point.

The unique part of this situation is that Dallas won't be forced to cut him. Dak is so cheap you could actually afford to pay 9 and have him be the backup.

They may not be forced to cut him, but there is almost no way he's on this team next season. Either someone offers to trade, or he's likely released.

With any other owner, you might be right. With Jerry I could see him rationalizing that he's paying "league average" for his QB situation. Not saying that's what will happen but we're talking about Jerry, here.

I think it's interesting people assume he'll be traded.. They had just as much respect for Ware and he was released. He already had a deal with Denver in place.

I've been wrong alot lately (lol), but put me in the camp that he'll be a designated June 1 cut and released before the next league year.

Maybe not financially, but I think that Romo will want out and the team will respect his decision and do what they need to do to make that happen.

Romo doesn't have to rework his contract and the team can't afford to pay him $24.7 million as a backup. Something's gotta give.
