You heard right. Jones already confirmed this.Romo isn't going anywhere. He will compete with Dak for the starting job next preseason. Or at least that is what I read here.

But there is too much football left for this decision to be made. And Rappaport's comments are far more speculation by someone on the fringe that Rappaport talked to and not one of the main players in this drama.
Honestly I don't see the stars aligning for Romo to have a legit SB shot. Either 2 things will have to happen that have low probability. 1) Staying healthy in Denver 2) Going on an unexpected playoff run in Buffalo. As far as his options, IMO Denver represents his best bet at a Super Bowl. Buffalo represents his best bet at staying on the field and playing games in January. If Romo is in Denver, I think there is a strong Paxton Lynch is under center in January.
I'd send him to the Jets or Buffalo for sure

My bad, I was pretty young then. I just knew he was with the Broncos.Actually it was the Giants that traded for Morton. They started him a few seasons and then cut him. That was when Denver picked him up.
And the 1st round pick they got for trading Morton ended up being Hall of Famer DT Randy White. Randy White ended up being one of the Co-MVP's in the Super Bowl the Cowboys played against Morton and the Broncos. By the way, in that game, Morton recorded a "0" passer rating and was replaced at halftime.

People underestimate the relationship between Jerry and Romo. I believe Jerry will do whatever Romo asks even if it doesn't make the most sense for this team. He will not ship him to the Browns even for a first round pick he'd take the 4th if Romo wanted Denver, or it Romo wanted to stay in Dallas and compete with Dak he'd be allowed to do that too. If it's true Romo has a no trade clause as someone mentioned then there's no way he's going somewhere he doesn't want to obviously.
I think the Jets would be thrilled to get Romo. Fitz won't be re-signed, Bryce Petty has not looked that good. Romo could take the reigns for 3 years, and Hackenberg could learn behind him. The question is....what is Romo's trade value?
