Romo to have "significant say" in where he goes

But there is too much football left for this decision to be made. And Rappaport's comments are far more speculation by someone on the fringe that Rappaport talked to and not one of the main players in this drama.

1st thing I thought.

This "insider info" seems WAY too premature and REEKS of speculation. But, these days that's what a lot of this "inside info" turns out to be anyway.

Do we seriously think Romo is one week removed from officially becoming a backup and is openly talking about about his "landing spot" in the offseason, while we're sitting at 8-1 with a ton of football left? That doesn't seem like Romo at all. And I doubt he'd want to be a distraction fueling this type of stuff.

This "journalism" just seems off.

Romo would have to be insane to want to go anywhere else. He's one play away from being on the field and in a system that he understands with one of the best run games and OL in the league, He's got one foot in the playoff door and it's getting to be a bigger foot every week, why would he want to go anywhere else?

Romo for Sheldon Richardson trade in the off season. That would be an ideal scenario for me

Honestly I don't see the stars aligning for Romo to have a legit SB shot. Either 2 things will have to happen that have low probability. 1) Staying healthy in Denver 2) Going on an unexpected playoff run in Buffalo. As far as his options, IMO Denver represents his best bet at a Super Bowl. Buffalo represents his best bet at staying on the field and playing games in January. If Romo is in Denver, I think there is a strong Paxton Lynch is under center in January.

I can absolutely agree w all of this

Well done and well said

Tony should be moved to a team that can contend ( just not in our division ). He's earned that & I'd want him to win a Super Bowl ( not against us, of course ). He's also earned that.

I'd send him to the Jets or Buffalo for sure

I think the Jets would be thrilled to get Romo. Fitz won't be re-signed, Bryce Petty has not looked that good. Romo could take the reigns for 3 years, and Hackenberg could learn behind him. The question is....what is Romo's trade value?

People underestimate the relationship between Jerry and Romo. I believe Jerry will do whatever Romo asks even if it doesn't make the most sense for this team. He will not ship him to the Browns even for a first round pick he'd take the 4th if Romo wanted Denver, or it Romo wanted to stay in Dallas and compete with Dak he'd be allowed to do that too. If it's true Romo has a no trade clause as someone mentioned then there's no way he's going somewhere he doesn't want to obviously.

Actually it was the Giants that traded for Morton. They started him a few seasons and then cut him. That was when Denver picked him up.

And the 1st round pick they got for trading Morton ended up being Hall of Famer DT Randy White. Randy White ended up being one of the Co-MVP's in the Super Bowl the Cowboys played against Morton and the Broncos. By the way, in that game, Morton recorded a "0" passer rating and was replaced at halftime.
My bad, I was pretty young then. I just knew he was with the Broncos.

This. Why people who have watched this team since Jerry has owned it thinks any thing different is beyond me. This doesn't even compare to Murray and Jerry wanted to keep him.

Jets would want Romo, but why would Romo want Jets.
Lets hope Jerry can convince him to stay with an open competition in camp, though if I were Romo, I would never go to a crap team like the Jets/Browns/49ers.
Love calling 49ers crap team :muttley:.

He cannot be traded until June 1 anyway so that is 7 weeks from camp.
The only team I would consider if I were Romo would be Broncos, but does Jerry really want to create a scary competitor?
May be Broncos can take out Patriots for us, but they could also take us out.
I dont think Romo would survive a full season.
But if I were the Broncos, I would find some way to reduce his snaps to preserve him for the post-season.

There are also at least 3-4 1st round type QBs in the draft next year, most likely.
After seeing the results of the QBs this year, I suspect a lot of teams are going to draft and start them.
Not sure why last year so such a good crap, or perhaps people did not realize that some of these run option QBs can play - no idea...
