Should Dak get a raise in pay this year or next?

ok I dont mean like 20 mil a year or even10 or 5.
I was thinking if I was the owner, I would give this kid a raise to at least 2 mil a year, and maybe to 5 a year,
then tell him to keep that in mind when he is signing 2nd contract.

It isnt right to expect him to play for 4th round salary, which is what $500,000 a year?
I dont know how much of that he would have after taxes, but it doesnt seem like enough.

The way I look at it he has done enough to earn 2 mil this year already !

So what would you do if your the owner?

Keep him at the minimum until it is time for a new contract. Dallas is already paying a lot for Romo, no reason to throw money into the wind.

Giving raises to anyone who performs beyond expectations for a short period of time is no way to run a business.

tightwad !! lol your a billionaire !!!!!!! money isnt a issue.
So you think it is ok for dak to make less than escobar and morris etc ??
I would do the right thing, and give him a raise to a suitable salary, dak would not forget that.

explain ??
By the time he is able to get new contract, assuming his play stays at its current level, he will stand to make more than 25 million a year. Under the current CBA I believe he is eligible for some additional performance based pay that will increase his salary anyway, although I am not exactly sure the math behind that, @percyhoward or @AdamJT13 could probably give a clearer answer on that.

We have him on his rookie contract for four years and I don't think he can renegotiate for a new contract until his third year at the earliest.

He is having a great rookie season but I'd still like to see him do it again at least for one more year.

Zeke will be in every single commercial once the season ends. Just like McCoy after the 2013 season. He'll be getting money elsewhere.

Half a mil a year isn't starving. He'll survive until next contract.

Jerry has always taken care of his players generously -- it won't be any different with Dak. Let's also recall how frequently he has been criticized for overpaying them. Romo's deal is a good example as to what to expect when it comes for Dak to be awarded his next contract. If anything, expect Dak to be extremely satisfied with his new deal whenever the FO feels the time is right. This is something that should be the least of our concerns.

Hell no. That is the beauty and value of having a good rookie on a rookie contract it allows you to allocate money to your defense oline etc. He'll get his payday in time.

Whoops, was speed reading earlier.

But yeah, same thing applies with Dak. He'll be in a ton of commercials after the season is over. He'll be fine.
