This was a case of a defense doing almost everything according to plan to stop Elliot, and the offense succeeding anyway.

It's a rookie "game manager" QB forced to be one-dimensional against the best defense he's ever faced, and having success without the player considered his offense's best weapon. It's just one drive, but it's a drive that should never have happened, which makes it a game the Cowboys should never have won.

The fact that he's on pace for nearly 4,000 yards passing suggests he's not a game manager, but if you mean in this game only, his passing and rushing yardage accounted for two-thirds of our offense.

And we lose the game without that drive.

Its because Dak isn't a game manager and because he has five All Pro players on his offense, along with a rookie RB who deserves the NFL MVP. Its all a big buffet of excellence.

This game is meaningless to me in regard to Prescotts stats. Almost every good play he had has wiped out by a penalty. The stats won't look good when you're constantly in 3rd and long and not converting.

Actually its a case where one Vikings DB completely misplayed a double move by an All Pro WR on one single play.

Without the conversion on 3rd and 13, we're punting from our end zone and that play never happens.

That was the first time a team converted on 3rd and 10+ from inside its own 20 against the Vikings this year. League-wide, the conversion rate in that situation is 14.5% in one-score games.

I know you wanted Wentz, so did I. I don't understand your constant criticism and lack of support for Dak. I mean, you are a Cowboys' fan right? Even if Dak isn't your first choice, or any choice at all, he has been quite impressive. You are right, his stats were not that impressive against the Vikings. But, what is impressive is his poise, his will, his composure, and his drive to succeed. He simply refuses to accept failure or defeat. Not only that, he is very smart with the football. He rarely makes bad decisions with it (by that, I mean throwing it where it can be potentially intercepted with high probability).

I was not a member of the Dakwagon.....but his play in the preseason convinced me to give him a chance and to even hop aboard. I have had a seat on that ride ever since.

That we got the best player in the draft with the 135th pick is still hard to believe. This has been a season to remember no matter how it ends.
