I'm not sure if this has been talked about before or not. But Sheldon Richardson could be a crucial addition with just the cost of our 4th round pick max, honestly the Jets might even take just a deal as our 6th round this year and our 5th next year for Richardson. The jets have been unloading contracts left and right to get back to good standings with the Salary Cap.

Hypothetical with the addition of Richardson and then maybe Elvis Dumerville or D-Ware followed by 1st(Takk) or 2nd draft choice at Edge, would absolutely make our Defensive line into a Force!!

LE - D.Lawrence/Irving/Mayowa
1tech - S.Richardson/Thornton
3-tech - T.Crawford/Collins
RE - E.Dumerville/Takk(Draft)/Tapper

Gives me goosebumps just thinking about...

Richardson is a major head case, but he would instantly be our best defensive lineman.

I don't think he is honestly that bad, his incidents started when the Jets drafted Leanord Williams to take his spot right after he had an All-Pro year. Which is almost unheard of for teams to do, and I'm guessing that made him feel like an Outcast with certain fellow teammates.

So a change of Scenery could do the man wonders to get his head back on straight and it doesn't hurt that he will actually be on an winning team instead of that debacle the jets put on the field year in and year out.

Good point..................I would take a chance on him, especially if the price is just a 4th rounder.

My feelings exactly, If we can add Richardson, and a Older Vet Pass rusher to teach a young guy we draft early on in the draft. Has the possibility to immediately reform our Defense, since because of those additions we can use the rest of our Draft picks or available Cap space on the Secondary, #2 WR, RT and other Positins of need, since our biggest handicap will have been dealt with.

Does it matter? It's not like Dallas will go after a tier one defensive player. Not sure we can call Richardson tier one but I don't see us trying for him. It is Ware or a rotational player or bust :(

It just makes so much sense to me. Richardson has one year left on his Contract, so we can play him for this one year and see how he performs at the cost of a Petty late round Pick. He performs like he can, at an All-Pro level then we resign him since we're going to have a pretty good amount of Free Cap space next year.

I agree that he is worth kicking the tires on but I think that ship has sailed.

Our 4th last season was Dak Prescott.

Before him, Damien Wilson, Anthony Hitchens, B Webb, Wilber, Matt Johnson, David Arkin, AOA.

Don't want to go further back than that cause it gets too bad, but we don't have a great track record. I really don't want Sheldon, but we do have to think about what we are getting instead of what we think we will get.

Wilson and Hitchens are average starters. Not bad for round 4 (shrugs)

Who would want to pass up on those greats

Who happens to be a bit of a problem child, at what's not a position of need, on a full-market value contract.
Tape shows him playing alot of DE....Marinelli's "position flex" right there......even more so DE...all the way inside to 1tech on run plays.

I know how we operate in FA but it is still depressing when the ball officially drops on FA day, we are nowhere to be found and you don't hear from us until days later as we sift through the bargain bins.

Hey, another let's give up a draft pick(s) forRichardson thread. This has been discussed over and over.
Now if they want to give a 7th rounder, since we waste them on future player types anyway. Then I will be ok with this. But not a 4th. Despite ones opinion on previous 4th rounders, you do not this trade.
Glad you are not any way associated with making team decisions. :D
