WE are BLOWING the potential trade opportunity by rushing this thing! Absolutely blowing it!

WE will get nothing but some conditional pick probably 2 years from now.

Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't Romo's agent rather him be released? Why would he put out a smokescreen about a trade?
To keep his current contract in place, or at least drive up the offers on a new deal.

WTH just happened. I hope this is true, but who trades after it's telegraphed Romo will be released?
A trade might be the best way for a team like Denver to secure Romo, if they are truly interested. Once he hits FA Romo gets to choose his spot and if they think he would prefer to stay in Texas why wouldn't you throw a late draft pick Jerrys way?

This sounds like smoke from Romo's agent.

But nobody is showing their hand for sure.

Romo's agent would prefer he be released so he can create a bidding war in free agency along with a big signing bonus.

Is Jerry planting a story to get one team to jump and trade for Romo when in fact there is no interest?

The team that thinks they will miss out to the other interested team. It appears either Houston or Denver blinked or a 3rd team entered the fray. If Denver is in fact talking about trading their QB, they may have decided it was worth trading for Romo to ensure they get him. They do have a ton of extra picks.

At least two teams want him and each is scared of losing him to the other. That's the only scenario I can come up with.
Exactly what I was thinking

Watch us get a first from Houston, they aren't doing jack with what they have.ha

Yeah, one might want to call the shot.

The rest of the league, including the media, will be really sad if we get something for Tony.

They were all soooooo happy yesterday reporting we would get nothing.

Anything is better than nothing. If you telling me a 6th round pick gets me a convo with Romo over a straight up free agency war with team B? you take that all day on both sides.

Glad we playing chess again instead of checkers. That's makes yesterday statement a brilliant move.
