Signed by Cowboys G Jonathan Cooper re-signs for 1-year

Nick Hayden was never one of the best players on our defensive line. Interior line? Well he stayed relatively healthy and was never good enough to get money so I give him that. There was always at least 5 defensive linemen on this team better than him though.

Crack is a negative. So was Hayden, but sometimes crack is the best we've got. Clearly, it seems all you've got.

He just needs to be serviceable IMO, can't have premium steak at every OL position. I think Collins can move out to RT and be dominant.

Why can't Collins play RT?
I think Collins can play RT but i feel we won't be a pro bowl RT like some think he is. He has trouble with pass protection at guard and that's while sandwiched between 2 All Pros. I think the same people who are pounding the table for him at RT will be the first ones calling him a Jag and hating him at RT after he gets beat for a sack or 2 and a few pressures in a game. Hes a run blocking monster. keep him at guard if possible.

He can play RT, they just think he has more potential at G. He's going to be a monster at G.

Glad we signed Cooper. I'm interested to see how he does with an offseason and camp with the other guys on this line. He was a bigtime draft prospect before his injury, maybe the 3 all-pro's can help get his mind right.

I agree. I think Collins ceiling at RT is a high end starter not quite a Pro bowler( like Leary has been at LG). while at Guard his ceiling is All Pro.

If healthy, Collins will never beat out Green at RT. We just have to hope Green is healthy because he's the obvious answer there.

It certainly appeared that he can handle it if he's healthy. Of course, teams didn't have any film on him to study his weaknesses and try to exploit them. Those things change when you're the starter.

i dont think collins's injury rap sheet is anything like green.
green is the worst i have ever seen except matt johnson
The highlight of Matt Johnson's career was the hilarious preseason play where he makes a play showing all the athleticism and instincts that he was being lauded for, falls down for some reason and predictably gets hurt. Career over. Everyone in the game chat said "I bet he is hurt" as soon as he fell.

Dude is a flier who has washed out with 3 teams. Yes he has tons of talent but lets actually see him in action as a Cowboy before we start reimagining our offensive line
