Players Dallas Has Shown Interest In - 2017

Well alright. A private workout scheduled.

Next month Shaheenmania might be running wild on you, brother.

Kinda surprised. Since McClay took over scouting there seems to be less interest in small school guys

Shaheen is the exception to every rule.

I get preferring major programs but to completely dismiss all small school players seems extreme.

But he is also a Tight End like Escobar and Fasano
I wouldn't assume a TE we draft high to automatically be the 2nd TE. Do people not see how much Witten has deteriorated? He's a good, solid player now. Not an All-Pro anymore. If Romo can lose his job, why couldn't a rookie TE come in and steal some snaps from Witten?

But Witten is now shot. We're looking for a starter. That wasn't the case when we took Fasano, Bennett or Escobar.
Which is why i would not be surprised if O.J. Howard was tthe first round pick if he is still on the board. Cowboys have spent second round picks on TE's when Witten was younger.

Why not wait until a later round to get that George Kittle dude from Iowa instead of shaheen?

Mayock now has Kittle in his top five. Might be picked higher than thought. I like Kittle as a blocker. Finishes like an OL.

It's a fair question but I'm guessing it has to do with the potential of developing a guy that has exceptional size for the position in Shaheen being 6'-5.5", 278 lbs.

Kittle is your more typically sized TE at 6'-3.5", 247 lbs.

Because players with OT size (and hopefully OT blocking ability) and TE receiving ability are few and far between these days. Typically it sees colleges produce either receiving TEs or blocking TEs nowadays, not the whole package.
