I have dove next to Tigers, Bulls, Makos....most of them that are in the Pacific and Atlantic. The only Whites were when I was in a cage off of the Farallon's near San Fran. I have never seen one while diving. I have seen one while surfing but it was a small one, maybe 6ft.

Wow!!! Makos! Wow! Usually open sea fish like oceanic white tips. You were lucky to see that!

Farollon is thought to be a mating ground or nesting ground for Whites, they don't know for certain which.

That six footer was definitely SoCal, I know that. We get the pups

It all depends on the bottom time, what kind of gas you are using, etc. At 60ft, I usually do a 4 minute decomp. 15ft below the surface.

That is mamba behavior. Interesting. Hmm. Maybe an Eastern Diamondback? They have a variety of hues depending on their environment.

Generally, non-poisonous snakes will lay off after their threat display (the bowing up you described, brother). But poisonous species will chase, knowing they have buck behind the bite.

Still, even the most aggressive species stop after a while. Except the black (not green, green is way more docile, yet probably more venomous) mamba. The B mamba will chase your arse till it's good and ready to stop. It can hit speeds of 10mph+, too.

The water moccasin is a killer... ill-tempered, incredibly venomous (as per LD50), and occasionally eats fish. Fascinating and gorgeous species, Melon, brother.

That 2 footer could've easily wiped you out.

A buddy and me with our live in girlfriends had been fishing and were on shore crackin beers when there was a commotion coming from the back of the john boat where I'd tied the stringer of fish, a couple of large mouth bass and a huge crappie ( biggest one I'd ever caught/ seen) well, I saw a snakes head clamped down on the throat of that crappie fish right at it's gills(there's no way that snake could've swallowed that fish) but it's eyes had already glazed over with that blue looking way they get with being dead underwater ,,it was a bummer too cuz' I was proud of catching that crappie.

(I think it was what's called a 'blue racer',,, idk ?)

I bought a half dozen if them .99 cent chili Mac frozen casing-liner's at the store the other day,,, i just tried one,it wasn't that bad with the splashes of hot sauce,,,prolly throw in some sliced mushrooms and some of the 4 cheese shredded taco stuff on the next one at the 3 minute microwave 'ding' mark cuz',,, well,,,I strive to perfect my culinary arts
