I know what you mean. In years past, the impending start of the season had me excited, gleeful, and just plain ol' giddy. I don't have that sense of excitement anymore. It's not solely because of the NFL's "lawyer, jury, and judge" concept of justice, but that's certainly a part of it. Goodell, in his effort to "protect the shield", has done tremendous damage to the league, IMO. More than a year to investigate Zeke's alleged domestic violence??? Give me a break! As much as I despise Brady and the Pats, I was hoping that they would hand Goodell, his own *** in court...unfortunately, it didn't come down that way. The NFLPA deserves every bit as much blame as Goodell for giving him the unquestioned power that he has. They can all go to hell as far as I'm concerned.
I'll continue to watch and support my team, which is exactly what Goodell is counting on. That said, Goodell and the NFLPA can kiss my ***...

well Hardy got 10, reduced to 4

I'm trusting Jerry, Stephen Jones, and Dez Bryant when they all have said they expect Zeke to be playing.
Dez could be only going by what Zeke is thinking...But if Zeke's attorneys have reviewed and responded to the league's case then they must know something.,.....that or Zeke attorneys and the Jones are going to be totally blindsided by the league.

It's my belief that the league held the investigation open so long because they couldn't find anything concrete and didn't want to shut it down and then have something else come out....Like with Josh Brown.

You have to remember that it would behoove reporters in today's climate to state stuff like this without any legitimate sources.

The reporter will never be punished or downgraded at their job for getting this wrong and in the meantime, it brings attention to their Web site, Twitter account, TV show, etc.

They keep this up they're going to be driving a lot of their fans away. I'm not even as big a fan of the league as I was in my younger years. The league's changed too much.

That's what I read it as a fine and a suspension. I doubt he'd just get a fine after all this time. It's getting leaked to prepare us. This is happening folks.

A suspension essentially is a fine.

You don't get paid for the games you are suspended for. A 6 game suspension may be a 2 million dollar fine..then you take more money on top of it? I don't see that as likely.
