Absolute statements on a message board are the dumbest thing in the world. Its not going to happen.

To me he looks like Dez II.
They've both got similar builds and the same physicality to them. But yeah Dez is in a league of his own when it comes to catching in traffic. He does have that look. However Dez is the best contested catch WR I've ever seen. Don't think Brown will compare in that regard.
Could not agree more. Think Brice Butler should be traded to a WR needy team while his value is high. And this is coming from someone who once had high hopes for Brice as a Cowboy.
I like Butler and I wasn't suggesting that we get rid of him.No matter what I'm not letting Butler go just to keep Brown.
No. Obsessions with players is the dumbest thing about message boards. I believe you know a thing or three about thatAbsolute statements on a message board are the dumbest thing in the world.
Exactly. He is PS material. No one is going to put him on their 53. He hasn't stood out during games. One or two decent in-game routes isn't enough.Brown has talent, and is nasty as a blocker, but he's not sudden enough as a player. Not quick at all off the line, and not quick in and out of his cuts. I wouldn't pound the table to keep him over a Rico Gathers.
Since when is Brice Butlers value high?
The dude would bring you a conditional late round pick if anything at all.
Every year there is a receiver people want us to keep. They never matter in the end. A 4th TE like Rico, an extra DL to cover the suspensions, a 3rd QB, an extra DB with all the draft picks used there - these are all precedents over a WR who doesnt excel at special teams, except for making bone head plays like creaming the other teams kicker.
Butler is having a very good preseason and I'm not saying he's worth a 1st rounder or a pro bowl pass rusher, his value is the highest its been in a while. And a conditional late round pick is what we used to acquire him but think he would be worth a late middle rounder to a WR starved team like Jets, Bills or 9ers.
Butler will not be a Cowboy next season, need to start thinking about his replacement. Noah is already a better fit on this offense than Brice, and he can play specials too.

I just don't think the staff is an enamored with him as you are.His ability or lack there of o special teams doesn't matter because Brown, like all of the other bottom of the roster players, won't be active on game days. He'll be one of the 7 guys, who doesn't suit up, so if he has more upside than a guy like Ivie, Carrol, Neal, Nzeocha, White, Thomas, or even Bell, then he may get kept. In a perfect World, we cut Moore and that *should* make keeping Brown easy.
Ok. Bookmark my meaningless guarantee. Let's revisit in 2 weeks. That'll be fun. Just think, you'll have a chance to prove how meaningless my 5 second prediction really was after all.Sure, the dozens or hours that I spent studying a couple of players somehow compares to the 5 seconds that it took you to make a guarantee that's meaningless. You don't even post the Cowboys history of how many WRs they carry each year.
I thought Noah Brown's ceiling this year would be Mayle. Thought his blocking skills could be valuable on that one package where they motion the WR inside and then block the DE at the snap. Plus contribute a little on special teams.I end up with a bottom-roster pet WR pretty much every preseason. I like Brown, and feel about him about the same way I felt about Vince Mayle. I'm all for keeping the guy, if space allows. I won't shed any tears, though, if we end up cutting him to make room at another position that's more important or harder to fill.
We are NOT keeping 6 WRs. We never keep 6 WRs. There is not enough balls to go around for Noah to be on the 53. PS though.
They kept 6 WR's in 2012 too.We did as recently as 2011, so that's a bit sooner than never. Besides, your logic is flawed. The players on the roster bubble with Brown all aren't likely to play/contribute, so not having enough balls for a 6th receiver isn't a concern. Holding onto a guy that could replace Brice Butler or even Terrence Williams in the future, should be the concern.
People who think he can be snuck onto the practice squad.Who's not taking him seriously?
No way he gets through waivers. He still has some development needs as a receiver, but a guy his size with his ability to block can get on the field for special teams tomorrow.Exactly. He is PS material. No one is going to put him on their 53. He hasn't stood out during games. One or two decent in-game routes isn't enough.

I always hate the "told you so" guy, but I'm him when it comes to Noah brown. Couldn't have been more excited to hear his name announced for the cowboys. Had the guy played in a more traditional offense in college he might have been viewed as a 1st/2nd rounder.
I don't see how Brice has ANY value. I think he can potentially have a breakout year.......but thus far in this league he's proven nothing and the last time we saw him he didn't look like he was going to be a factor in this league.
