Best & Worst Movie Remakes or Even from TV Series

Rob Zombie's "Halloween" remake... Just a POS.

And then he couldn't stop with the first one and gave us a remake of #2 that was plain goofy.
I guess I'm alone in that I actually like the Zombie Halloween remake. It's not as good as the original but it's still a good movie.

Yeah, I think you are along on that one! LOL!

I use to take dates to see slasher films in the 80's...

Taking a date to this cluster-***** would have been embarrassing.

The hospital rape scene wasn't necessary.

And I get he had to push the whole child abuse angle at home but it was well over the top.

The film wasn't scary. And that's a big reason why it pales in comparison to the original.

I am looking forward to Top Gun, don't care what the reviews will be, it is a must see!

Star Trek. Loved the old cheesy William Shatner / Ricardo Montalban movies. The new movies feel juvenile, like the Hunger Games in space.

I agree. IMO Star Trek did its best work on TV. Some of the movies were pretty good, but the reboot ones were atrocious. I'm hoping the upcoming ST Discovery will be good, but I have my doubts. I think the fan show Star Trek Continues was very good for a fan-made show.

Speaking of "Texas Chain Saw"... I did enjoy the remake with R.L. Emery playing the evil sheriff.
Funny I just rewatched that one on Netflix.
"This family will never starve again..."
He was a perfect fit for that role.

Worst Remakes: Chucky films. I used to love the 1st 3 growing up but they've ruined em for me with that cartoony angle they took it to.

Yup ....... and Terminator 2 was better than Terminator in my opinion.
that was not a remake. That was a sequel. Now there are several films where the second one was superior. Wrath of Khan, Terminator 2, Aliens just to name three.

The "Kolchak-The Nightstalker" remake was crap. Absolute crap.

The writers & producers totally missed what made the original great... A terrific character actor who gave off comedic vibes in Darren McGavin. The new "Kolchak" was dark, disturbed and definitely not comedic in any sense of the word.

Sad fact in today's Hollywood is that is about all that is allowed. Outside of a few goofy comedies here and there, you are pretty much looked down on for having real humor anywhere. And putting any real comedy in a movie that is not meant to have it is just not done anymore.

Add to it that just about anyone making a movie is more concerned about his or her reputation for being an 'artist' and there you have it.
