Signed by Cowboys Cowboys Re-Sign QB Kellen Moore

I don't care.

Who's the backup in Green Bay? Seattle? New York? Philly? Atlanta?
Then that makes Moore even more irrelevant if no backups matter

At least get one that can see with ceiling with a booster chair .....maybe even a dual threat guy like RGIII over Dinty Moore..... we are a runnign team anyways and who cares if our QB2 or QB3 gets hurt running the read option

No kidding. Between Romo and Dak (and who knows, maybe now Rush) we've spent less and gotten more out of three QB position than any team I can remember. At least since the Rams pulled in Warner and Green. Though I think even Green cost them in FA when they brought him in.

And to think we had long debates about the team's ability to develop QBs at all just last season. Silly, in retrospect, given what we did with Tony Romo and the fact that we had three former QBs on staff.

Their success in this area alone is the main reason I'm happy to give them whatever leeway they want in terms of roster positions to develop Cooper Rush.

If Rush turns out, we will have had an incredible amount of success at the most difficult position to see success with, that's 100% true.

I think everybody knows what the deal is. I wish the guy were a better player, too, but having a stop-gap veteran backup while you develop a rookie free agent is not exactly an earth shattering tactic here.
Cooper Rush isn't the future either...... he is just a guy that might make a decent backup like MMoore

No need to waste a roster spot and practice time on KMoore...... cut him loose and call him if Dak gets hurt and we need a crash test dummy to complete the season

Exactly.

Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why
'They' think he gives them the best chance to win without Dak, obviously someone does,

Not me, Cooper Rush is the QB2 that could help win games when called upon to produce on the field and he has proven that fact.

Smarter to continue scouring for Safties, DLs, LBs, OTs ect. JMhumbleO

Fingers crossed right?!

Hey, if it wasn't evident enough already, ;), I'm the type that trusts what he sees rather than taking someone's word for it.

I've certainly seen enough from Prescott and have seen enough of a sample size from Rush to feel that he has enough to be a competent backup in this league. A four-year starter who doesn't look lost or flustered under pressure.

My lone concern on Rush is an interesting play on his last name. He processes and throws the ball so quickly, that he looks to be "Rushing" things. First read, wham! Ball is gone! And thus far, it's proven successful. In part I think due to his accuracy.

But there's still a small part of me that worries that teams will start squatting on his first read trying to force him into throwing interceptions.

Not 'Kellen Moore worried' enough to waste time on him, but a bit of a concern, given the sample size. But I'd still prefer going with Rush as my second quarterback over Moore. I've seen enough of that guy.

Not hardly.

I see Moore's limitations.

You see Moore's limitations.

The rest of the fan base see's Moore's limitations.

The Cowboy staff know what his limitations are.

And if they think he adds something by being on the roster.

I'm OK with it.

I've noticed the same.

And if another team actually game-planned against the kid I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of that.

This team would go 2-14 this season with Cooper Rush.

He's a promising lad, but he's not ready for a real defensive gameplan to stop him. He can't read NFL defenses. He doesn't know yet how to change protections or adjust routes at the line of scrimmage. He doesn't know how to audible to a defense's weakness.

Right now, he looks great just gripping and ripping in a scrimmage against backup players without a gameplan.

Everything changes when the season starts.

And they'd be winless with Kellen Moore. What's your point?

The only reason you'd have Moore in the first place is to take snaps on short notice in a week he hadn't gotten practice reps in so you don't burn up your developmental QB using him too soon under live fire.

At least I think they'd be tempted to use Rush if they gave him a full week of practice reps. Or at least, they would if Moore were to stink it up finishing out a game. They'd probably use Moore until he stinks it up twice.

It's possible. But I'd rather go down in flames while a quarterback with upside who's shown he can make plays in this league learns and improves over wasting time on a player like Kellen Moore. Who everyone knows can't.

People often cite the term "progress stopper". I can think of no better example.

To me a "progress stopper" is someone that is actually playing.

Since Moore isn't playing I do not view it that way.

I'm a little more forgiving on Moore then a lot of folks, I suspect. I know he's not a guy who is probably going to win you 4 out of 6 games. I just think he does things for the team that we don't see, necessarily.

But Rush, I really like what I've seen to this point. Still, a lot of learning needs to take place before he is ready IMO, but I'm excited about what I see. I think he might be able to do it.

Yeah, knew I was being trolled when he was cut. This dude is not an NFL QB. All you hear is he knows the offense. I counter with what does it matter when he can't execute it?!

I agree with that, but those things aren't on the field, NFL games things. I'd like to see him have a place in the organization, just not on the roster. He's a mind, not a player.

"Much to learn, he still has."
