You realize some of the things they are protesting is the systemic targeting of minority males which "destroy american black families." For profit prisons which have lead to mass incarceration. Mandatory minimum sentences. Three strikes you're out. Federal sentencing guidelines (crack vs. cocaine). Location of police drug enforcement vs leniency (whites do drugs at the same rate as every other race but face the fewest arrests and convictions).

Like dude wake the hell up. This is exactly why people are protesting. The systemic racism that erodes minority families.

You desperately need to read "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the age of colorblindness."

I'll even buy it for you on Amazon. Just tell me where to send it.

Doesn't seem to be eroding Hispanic- or Asian-American families. This is such a point of frustration for black men who are great fathers and husbands. They're screaming from the mountain tops about this, but they go entirely ignored by the media because they don't serve the desired narrative.

Where should I send the book?

How would they know? Nobody knows my experience with cops anymore than I know their experiences. Maybe people should stop assuming they know what other people's experiences are?
It is a generalization based on race. No. No single person knows every single interaction that has happened with every single person with a member of law enforcement. Hopefully, that is not the standard you demand to make a broad brush statement that is rooted in fact.

You mean the criminal giving the Neighborhood Watch guy a felony beating after he went to buy his sizzurp
or the repeat offender resisting arrest
or the loiterer with a gun in pocket that fought police
or the guy with the gun in lap in a car wanted for a Armed robbery that was told 3 times not to move
or the one you didn't mention that all based on a lie "hand up don't shoot" another strong arm robbery while high as a kite that assaults a cop ......how did his 2 buddies survive...oh yeah they didn't attack a cop
or the guy high on PCP in the middle the road that went to his car after being warned 20 times

It is funny we all know their names and stories but we don't remember any of the names of the cops killed in Dallas that ran to protect people that were protesting their very existence based on the same lies repeated over and over again
Wow! You framed these people in a way that I cant even tell who they are.
This post is disappointing and really shows a lot about you.
Not a good look.

And a generalization is even worse. They don't know what one person's experiences are, but somehow they know the experiences of an entire race? The only thing one can use then is statistics, but those are ignored for convenience.

I believe the league is more responsible for the downward trend than the players.

This Zeke BS is Exhibit A of why the NFL is ****. Their agenda is to "protect the shield", but their actions consistently throw dirt on it. Why are you constantly trying to criminalize your own players?? They should get a clue from the NBA, where the league glorifies and promotes its players rather than belittling them.

Exhibit B) how does marijuana use still destroy an NFL players career? I'm an attorney and I am allowed to smoke pot, but guys who are going through intense physical pain are not allowed to smoke pot. Absolutely ridiculous.

Exactly! Adam Silver is doing it right. Smart man.

So you're fine saying (repeatedly) things not based in fact but when someone offers to pay to educate you....you blow them off? So you're not actually interested in understanding the "other side"

Sounds about right.
You educate me? LOL, I'll put my education, experience, and resume up against yours any day of the week.

I'm trying to help YOU.

Wow. This says a lot about you.

Also the vast majority of people who support the BLM movement do not despise the existence of police. If you don't know that....educate yourself.

You can't spell "erodes" with e-r-o-d, brother...and you can't effectively engage in a battle of wits with unarmed men (won't name any names but you know who you are BK...I would join in and beat up on him some more but...tear dripping from eye...he has me on "ignore"...LMAO!!!!).

Regardless...keep up the good fight, bro! Couldn't say it better myself!

I'm happy to do the same against you....

How about we talk about the goalposts. What kind of statistics would it take for you to admit that those protesting have legitimate grievances (I assume being educated, experienced and resume'd means you're a data-driven kind of guy"

Jynx Maze, a true American hero. There's a lot of untapped potential, the Lance Dunbar of her craft if you will. You show me a top 5-10 with her not in it.

I'm ready to get out of this thread. It took an ugly turn, and this isn't the place for this.

I can't change your mind, and you can't change mine. That's just the way the United States of America is today, and it's not going to change. Honest dialogue and debate are long dead and buried.

I am asking this sincerely as it would truly help me understand the other side.
Do you believe that the behaviors of Michael Brown and Alton Sterling had much to do with their being shot and killed by the police?

You really think people are kneeling during the anthem because they despise the anthem. Talk about missing the point.

Oh and since we are on the "point missing" theme....those in our military fought for our constitutional rights. Have you heard of the bill of rights? It contains the first 10 amendments to our constitution. Right there at number 1 is the right to peaceful protest.

So I think when people kneel during the anthem they are thankful for those who have served and bleed and died for this country to protect their god given unassailable rights as citizens of this country.

I was reading post on here with people despising the anthem and how little it meant to them. I do think there are many who kneel to be outspoken and disrespectful for what it stands for. There are plenty that dont know the meaning of thankful.

Perhaps maybe though it stands for something DIFFERENT for each side of the issue and maybe that is where alot of the conflict lies.

Either way I had some steam and then I suddenly realized Im so gd sick of the "issue" that meh. Lol Im done, I dont care what you do and I dont need to understand it either. I personally will stand and choose not to make our national anthem my silent protest. When I choose to fight it wont be with a movement nearly as powerful as spoiled cry baby athletes bending knee because its trendy.

Says the guy who isn't willing to engage in honest dialogue and debate....after he's asked what information he'd like to be presented to him so that there could be an honest dialogue and debate.
