living in NY, surrounded by envious Giant fans, I hear crap like this all the time. I take the high road, especially with my wife's family, taking solace in knowing that THEY KNOW our two team are on polar opposite trajectories.

I live in NYC, and most of the people I know who are Giants fans wish they had Dak after that performance by Eli.

If you want to watch sports on ESPN then I say go for it.

If you want to watch talking heads on ESPN then I say :espn:

Except their basketball ones! And baseball! They have by far the top basketball and baseball coverage in the world.

Football is literally the only place they seem to employ shock jocks across the board. It makes sense though -- look at the fanbases for each respective sport and what moves their needles.

After week 1 and the talking heads don't know what to do or say. They are scared to death.

I honestly cannot think of anyone on sports tv less likable than Chris Carter. I simply cannot stand the guy.

I look forward to the days where talking heads are no longer on the news/sports coverage.

All scripted bs anyways.

Aikman wasn't that great. He looked great because of Emmitt's ability to hit the hole.
Emmitt wasn't that great either. You had a receiver, Irvin, who was always open...even when he wasn't. And that kept 8 men out of the box.
But Irvin wasn't the superstar he appeared to be. Our line play allowed him time to get open and look great.
The line wasn't that great either. The benefited from a QB who was surgical at finding the right place to go with the ball.

Lol. If anything, after the Giants game I'm more convinced that Prescott is gonna be a very good QB for years to come. Sure he had an off game by his standards, but that NY Defense is no joke. IMO they're a tough, top 5 Defense With a great secondary and two stud pass rushers and our guy consistently moved the ball down the field, had 270 yards or so, a TD and most importantly, NO turnovers.
He plays within himself, doesn't try to get too cute, will throw it away if nobody is open and protects the ball, and he's aggressive when he needs to be. He understands situational football better than almost any QB I have ever seen besides guys like Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, ect.

I don't see that there is any malice here. Carter even said he wouldn't have succeeded without being moved from Philly to Min and that only a handful of all-time greats can overcome the wrong chemistry with coaching and lesser talent around them. Seems an informed perspective if not being reviewed through Cowboys lenses.
For me, it's Carter in general.

I don't really care if he's talking about Cleveland.

Sometimes I think he just makes crap up to be different.

I don't care if people think Dak would not be effective on another team as long as he is effective on this team. You can't win hypothetical arguments, they are nothing more and opinions.

Exactly. It's the Brady argument. Who cares? We have Dak on the Cowboys. I don't really care for he'd perform on the Saints. It's an irrelevant discussion.

Why is this controversial? The Cowboys did a terrific thing: they put in place the perfect situation to allow a young QB to develop to the absolute best of his ability. And Dak has thrived in that environment. Put him in Cleveland and good luck to him.

Dak's ceiling is all Dak. Being on the Cowboys puts him in a position to reach whatever that ceiling is, and that ceiling looks really really high.
What was David Carr's ceiling? I have no idea, but he never had a chance to reach it because he spent all his time running for his life behind Houston's horrible line.
David Carr was sacked 250 times when he was with the Texans. Think about that number; and all the times he was hit just after throwing the ball. He NEVER got the protection the refs gave Brady. I don't care who you are; just about any QB would have broken under those conditions. Archie Manning is the only QB I ever saw that took that crap year after year and was still fighting and playing well. One in a million. Derek Carr has said he benefited a lot from what his brother taught him; David learned the hard way.

CC is full of crap. Didn't Connor Cook walk into a similar situation last year when Carr went down and totally flopped? Oakland had the OL, WR's, 1K RB and a great defense. What happened to Cook? What happened to the so called supporting cast? Dak is the real deal, just like Brady was the real deal in his sophomore season. Reminds me of a line from Nate Newton when Emmitt ended his two game hold out in '93: "I'm a whole lot better offensive lineman when he's on the field. Without him I'm just another fat guy running around" (I'm paraphrasing of course). Of course it's a team game, but you need a great QB to have the season we had last year.

There's a world of difference between the ears with Carter and Dak.

Dak isn't perfect but he would add 4 more to the "W" column on any team, IMO.

There is no doubt that Dak would NOT look as good on a bad team. NO question at all. But this guy has it. He would make ANY team better. And he is a baller. The guy is a great QB and would be anywhere. Dont think he is Tom Brady good, but the guy is good. He has it all in my opinion.

That is a pretty bold statement, but suggesting Dak adds four wins to teams with QBs like Aaron Rogers or Tom Brady would get you cut off at the local pub. ;)

Maybe something lost in the translation?
