Alejandro Villanueva has highest-selling gear in past 24 hours

Wow, you really can look at something like this and believe that it has nothing to do with outside factors? You must think that these races are just inferior somehow then, right?
No, they have people like Kaepernick telling them that their life is hopeless and it's all someone else's fault.

Before that Jesse Jackson got rich and famous telling people it was someone else's fault.

Hate and blame sells. Jesse Jackson couldn't get rich providing real but slowly evolving solutions such such as "Just say no to committing crime".

Some people lean on the race card too much, no doubt, however, when you look at a population on a whole, not on an individual basis, yea, it does make a difference. Is a police officer racist because he busts a black kid for a joint, but later on, let's a white kid go, because the kid looks like and reminds him of his son, no of course not, but if something so small as that can be such a big factor in determining success, then we need to look at these policies. Property tax is the biggest factor when deciding school funding, so is it racist that black kids who come from a lower income family aren't getting the same resources as other kids, no, but it's something we need to look at, if we really care about equality.

That's what makes everything so hard to solve. You make very valid points. There well could be, and probably are, inherent prejudices that some people don't even realize they have. Not just cops, but people in all walks of life and of all colors. It's very unfortunate, but it's a reality. I just wouldn't know how to reverse that.

Take the Michael Bennett situation. Were the cops seeking out a black man to throw to the ground? No. But he acted suspiciously, and in that dangerous setting, the cops had to make a split second decision. Of course it looked bad, but they're no more racist than you or I (you'll have to take me for my word that I'm not racist haha).

Really what annoys me more than anything, is that Michael Bennett and a ton of others try to make us think that there are active KKK members and skinheads around every street corner in a police uniform looking to bust the minorities. As if open and active racism is running rampant like we're in Alabama in the 1840s. That's a harsh comparison, but it does hold some weight.

way to make me feel like a jerk for calling you out :p

As well you should feel like a jerk :lmao2: haha it's all good, man. It's been a good discussion

Shhh, youre spreading to many facts

The protest are not about children gowing up in poverty. It's all about the police.

The police that get shot at for low pay are expected to make perfect decisions when people resist arrest.

The reason the children grow up in poverty is that people like Kaepernick convince their parents that everything is someone else's fault and their lives are hopeless.

People from other countries come here with less and prosper at much higher rates. Those people don't have Kaepernick telling them that their life is hopeless and that everything is someone else's fault.

Tell people from Mexico your sob stories about the police and they'll laugh you out of the room.
My family came here with nothing. Worked hard and struggled, and now they have something

Where are your numbers from, and what do they mean? Is this 17% of all homicides?

Why isn't anyone citing 36 USC 301.

I don't understand why. It's a freaking law

I did a study a few years ago on it. My mom lived in Denmark for two years and got me interested in it. But yeah, too much effort to find a good article right now. I've caused a stir in here and I'm trying to keep up with all the responses
It’s not true.
Here are the top 10countries in the world for doctors salaries...guess what? USA isn’t even number 1 highest paid....your socialist Norway is. And Denmark is in the top 10.
So this notion of same salaries is false.

Amazing how that works

Dang it! Another lie my mom told me :lmao: There are lots of sources that'll better explain what I said if you look deeper into the economic structure of Denmark, but my debate gas tank is approaching "E" and I'm tired haha

You don’t get to determine why each person is protesting.

So the reason Walmart and the rest of the companies who pay poverty wages to the majority of our country is because people are convinced that everything is someone else’s fault.? How’s that cause McDonalds to pay such low wages?

What Sob stories about the police and what does Mexico have to do with anything I said?
Not trying to be rude but you sound like you can’t have an intelligent debate when you are trying to argue with someone over things they never even said...it’s weird.

You should spout more demeaning stereotypes of african americans. And let's not forget about how you think Africans were better better off before emancipation. You need to give people the proper context.

Here are stats that give the real problem. Only 20% of police who are arrested for crimes are convicted. Since 2005 only 13 police have been convicted for murder or manslaughter. None since 2014. There are around 1000 deadly police shootings every year.

13 out of 12,000 deadly shootings.

In 2016, 963 were fatally shot. 466 (49.39%) were white, while 233 (24.20%) were black. In 2017 so far, US police have fatally shot 730 people. 326 (44.66%) were white, while 164 (22.47%) were black. (Source: Washington Post)

In 2016, the US population included 61.3% white people, and 13.3% black people. In 2017, those numbers are estimated, so far, as 73.6% and12.6%, respectively. (Source: Wikipedia)

What this shows is that a disproportionate of black people are killed by police, in respect to the population. That is what Colin K took a knee for.

where did you get these numbers from? and if 3% of all police homicides are black, what exactly constitutes the 12% in other and the remaining 85%? These numbers are completely different that everything I just looked up, but by all means, where did you get them from.
