"Social issues" is a pretty deep bucket.

But, yes, I also believe most of us are good people and open minded enough to want fair treatment for everybody, yes. The problems tend to come in when you start to try to define what that means.

Understood.

I hate this whole thing for football. Once the president waded in, it changed the focus of everything and required a response. I get that. But I just want football to be sports entertainment, and I wish people who cared enough about the various social issues involved here would find an appropriate way to make a meaningful difference other than complaining about it over twitter and over the internet in general. Not just talk, but by doing something substantial. Volunteer some time, some money, whatever.

Football was a place to get away from the idiocy of the President. I hate that he stupid his stupid Orange head in the sports world.

I'm trying really hard not to get started in the politics side of this whole thing. Impossible to separate politics from this particular issue, and I have strong feelings about it myself, but I"m going to show some restraint.
well based on how this thread is shaping up, you're putting yourself at a severe disadvantage then! lol

Being politics are so polarizing, it's unfortunate it invaded football. We can no longer simply be fans of the same team and talk shop. It seems now you have your right/left Cowboys and NFL fans. Hopefully this trend will subside.

It's another example how our bullyinchief has inflamed the cultural divide in this country simply to feed his base.

I would be curious to see if these players freedom of speech would have been so vigorously defended if they were protesting abortion. It appears that freedom of speech is only defended if what is being spoken about supports certain agendas. Nobody cared that the NFL disallowed the cowboys to wear stickers honoring the cops that were murdered in Dallas. I believe they said that would be too divisive. My biggest pet peeve is the hypocrisy. We all have issues that we feel are important.

Respect your opinion, but I don't think it's necessary political to call the dude out.

Regardless of whether you support his policies or not, it's beyond evident that the guy is either reckless or intentionally divisive with his words.

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with any of his given positions, I think we can all agree that the guy should start be focusing on more pressing and serious issues.

Instead, he'd rather stoke the flames of a cultural war.

We just don't need this.
