There was a reason Dak was not drafted before the 4th round

If the guy doesn't figure it out by next year, we simply draft his replacement. Problem solved

Not sure if you said that tounge in cheek but we both know that is not easy at all.

I think the problem most people have are A)we lost and B) an inordinate amount of Dak's incompletions are of the variety you'd expect him to complete. He's in the low 20s in yards per attempt and he's throwing noncatchable balls.

If you throw 16 incompletions and those balls aren't travelling far and they're not catchable that's a problem. Especially when the other team is sending extra run defenders.

Teams are daring Dak to throw outside the hash marks and up the field and he just can't do that consistently. Look at the 2nd deep ball Dak threw against the Rams to Dez on the opening drive. If he throws it inside its a touchdown. Instead Dez has to become a defender because the ball is behind him. Those things matter.

And that's the difference from last year to this year. Last year with completion percentages in the upper 60's he was sustaining drives and converting those tough 3rd downs. I don't see that this year. The pressure is greater for sure and maybe that is the biggest part of it. No use of Witten and Cole in the last 2 games is a big red flag to me when we are running an offense that is predicated on execution rather than any kind of trickery. Last year I was so impressed with his movement up in the pocket, this year, I don't see that when pressure comes from the outside.

I'm not in love with him either, I don't fall in love until someone actually does something. This is why I was never in love with Tony Romo, but I had a man crush for Troy Aikman and Rodger Staubach

Less than one year ago people were asking how he lasted until the 4th round and was considered the steal of the draft.

lol funny isnt it.

People want to compare him to tom brady of 2017

compare him to tom brady of 2001-2006 where his avg were 3593 yrds 24 td 13 int 88.4 rating

Dallas fan base are some of the worst in football, and they call stephen a smith crazy. But dont look in the mirror and see that some of them are actually worse than SAS

The difference between Dak and Brady early in their career is coaching and def.

I don't know if you guys have noticed this, but they are double-teaming Cole Beasley, and Jason Witten. I guess The Scouting Report is make Dez beat you and Williams beat you. I'm thinking they can beat their man eventually but by the time Dak can see them he has rushers bearing down on him. So schematically, we're doomed

I never ever ever ever ever ever compared him to Tom Brady and never ever will. Just saying. So im not sure if that was for me. It just drive me nuts to listen to people here ram down our throat he is a top 5 QB and we would win 14 games. Thats all that drove me nuts. Thats all. Its frustrating for all cowboys fana no matter how you feel. Thats all. It sucks for all of us.

Is like Witten and Beasley's job is to cover the short areas, and Dez and Williams job is to cover the long areas. That's got to change

The inaccuracy is off the charts this season. Whatever he did to his mechanics this off-season, he needs to forget it and go back to whatever he was doing last year.
Last year he was competing to be the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys. That set a fire under him that lasted all year.

This year. He is the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys. Him and Ezekial seem complacent they've been drinking up all of that cool aid. All that extra hype that comes with being an immediate super star for the most infamous franchise in Amerce. With a Hall of Fame Owner. ) For being a contributor, who does that.)

Maybe they should practice and figure out a way to beat it hmmm like if you run to a spot ill throw it there before you get there. There's a certain sweet spot for Des. Tony understood that knew where it was. He exploited it because Des is unstoppable when the Ball is placed there

Dak maybe incapable of making that throw. There are other. Types of Wr that run deep routes like Butler but Dak doesn't seam comfortable in his ability to make that throw either.

So I ask you this. Really really All you have to do to beat the Cowboys is shut down an old TE and a tiny slot receiver?

Well, I loved to watch Romo. He was just fun to watch. The Cowboys in the 90's were fun to watch but Aikman had no charisma.

It was an afront to Romo IMO for that Carrying the torch Cowboy QB thing during the game to not include him.

Well in the last 22 years you have to find joy in something and Romo was about the only thing in that period that has been fun about the Cowboys!! Until last year with Zeke and Dak anyway.

Garrett's offense doesn't change, and doesn't do anything that might be considered slick or tricky, because that wouldn't be fair to the defense.

Just let them know what every one the team is going to be doing all game, and then we'll beat you fair and square.

The easiest TD right now would be on the next third and 6. Run Dez and Williams on short outs, Witten on a stop at the sticks, and flare Zeke out to the side opposite Beas. Then just run Beas straight down the seam, since the defenses are all doubling him in and out with two DBs basically standing at the first down on his inside and outside. Cole would be open for a walk in touchdown. But you'll never see that because Beasley can't run deep routes, we've established that.

You could do a million things with Beasley, for example, line him up behind center in the backfield, and send him on an out and up with Zeke on the far right slot. Move the left receiver up and across the middle - leaving Beasley all alone to score.

Our offense is so stale, you take away the short stuff, then you need time for the receivers to get and beat their man deep. So stale

McNabb or RG lite?

Everything fell into place last year. Great OL, running game, etc. Everyone is struggling this year, which is not a shock due to 2 new starters on the OL, Zeke struggles and plenty of tape on Dak. I like Dak and think he will be a good QB, but he is NOT the QB that can put a team on his back and take over a game. I feel by end of year, we will see that from Wentz and Goff. Really impressed with year 2 from Goff so far.

I realize the oline is having some issues--relatively speaking.
But the olines of 2014, 2015, 2016, and this year are the 4 best olines this team has had in nearly 20 years.

it's all relative
