That situation was nothing like this one. NY had the lead...learn something indeed.

Once again, you are blind to the facts laid in front of you. They both left time on the clock when they didn't need to and gave the other team a chance to win . Both teams lost by doing so. I know it's little hard for you to understand this simple fact but you should at least try .

Thanks for posting Coy. I posted about an hour or more ago in a now since deleted Thread about Garrett turning into great coach, about this very subject. Figured it was a RPO play and Dak changed it based on the numbers he saw in the box.

Also figured that folks would say "they should have run it anyway and had no pass option." That line of thinking doesn't take into account the possibility of 2nd and 1 turning into 3rd and 5 or more cuz the run gets stuffed. Then Dallas would have eliminated the run as an option for the two downs it may have taken to get 5 or more yds.

I'll take my chances at that point on running the ball at that moment and losing a few yards than throwing a low percentage pass that gives the Packers what they really want............ a stopped clock.

LOL.

Who gave him the RPO?

Did Dak just make it up on his own? Like in Rudy when Devine called a run to run out the clock and the QB ignored his play call and decided to call a half back pass to score a TD to get Rudy on the field?

That is a completely different situation. NY was not trailing needing a touchdown. I even said you treat the situation differently if you're up 2 and only need a field goal to win.

Newsflash but scoring a touchdown is hard even in the red zone. We only do it 2 of every 3 trips. Nobody can afford to throw away a favorable look in those circumstances. Not the Cowboys. No one.

But please again reference the Giants game where they held the lead and the ball verses last night when we were down 4. I always enjoy hearing about a situation that has absolutely nothing to do with what we are talking about.

*sigh*

It has everything to do with what we're talking about. In both instances the decision to throw the ball resulted in a free timeout for the team that eventually came back to win. Surely you can see that?

He's the QB. He should know to run there.

Garrett Sucks, I was just passing along what I read.
It seems both Garrett and Dak messed up on that one.
Just so we don't cloud the message here... Garrett is the coach that oversees. If he knew (and he would have known........) that a RPO was called, it is incumbent upon him to step in and say WTH is going on. Timeout. Regroup. Run the ball. It's that simple. Now you tell me. What did he do?

What part of game context is different don't you understand?

So you explain to your star quarterback the situation and tell him to run the ball because we want to leave as little time as possible for Aaron Rodgers.
At least I think that's what coaches are suppose to do.
Jesus...

This....

Or taking a sack and risking a turnover trying to throw said pass.
