Despite likely not being a long term solution, he's undoubtedly an upgrade on what we have now, and would probably be the second best LB on this team for a couple of years based on what we're seeing from Jaylon.

1 - 2 year deal - pay him 4 mill. per...
Jaylon Is NOT ready. Seems like a no brainer to me, Vet experiance to help team, even if he's not what he once was ...

We are paper thin at LB, if he can still play we most definitely need to kick the tires.

He still plays, also coming off injury so what wrong in platooning them and letting Jayon fully heal himself ?

I'm not sure if he'd sign to split reps.

I also am not sure he'd sign anyway bc of something we're not allowed to talk about.

He's 29 and under contract through 2022.
His cap numbers the next few years would be:
2017 - $6.75M
2018 - $8.7M
2019 - $2.55M
2020 - $5.85M
2021 - $7.65M
2022 - $8.5M

He'll probably cost more than the Cowboys would be willing to give up. Plus, it would be admitting Jaylon Smith wasn't ready.

I don't know about that. I don't think we have to worry about the signing bonus so we could cut him and get out of the contract at anytime. Renegotiating is always an option.

That said, he is 29 and we don't really know what level he's still capable of playing at. However ...the last time we traded for a 49er defensive player turned out pretty nice for us.

So we don’t even care that he’s a 3-4 inside LB? Where will we put him? Are we sitting Hitch for for him so he could play middle? or do we put him at Sam?

If he's so good, why's he available?
